In a shocking incidence of brutality, a husband, suspicious over his Indian wife’s affair with his friend, assaulted her and tied her to a tree for seven hours.

The incident took place in the Ghatol area of Rajasthan’s Banswara district.

The incident came to light when the video of the man beating the Indian woman tied to a tree surfaced on July 29, 2022.

According to Rajesh Kumar Meena, SP Banswara, after the video came to light, the police identified the husband and the wife.

The FIR of the Indian woman who was present at her father’s place was registered in the night itself.

The morning after the incident, five people including the accused husband were detained.

In her complaint, the Indian woman stated that the incident took place because of suspicion.

According to Kailash Chandra Boriwal DSP Ghatol, the woman had gone to Ghatol village for personal work on July 24.

Her in-laws stay in Hero village in the Ghatol area.

In the village, she met her old friend Devilal Maeda and asked him to drop her at her aunt’s house.

Devilal dropped the Indian woman at her aunt’s house where they were made hostage and information was given to Mahaveer Katara (husband of the woman).

The woman alleged that after bringing her back from her aunt’s place, Mahaveer tied her and Devilal to a tree.

Mahaveer, along with his elder brother Kamlesh and other family members, assaulted the woman and Devilal for seven hours. They thrashed them with sticks.

Later after taking money under the Bhanjagada (Compromise) custom, Devilal was freed and allowed to go.

DSP Kailashchandra said that five people including the accused husband have been detained.

In the interrogation so far, there is only a friendship between the woman and the young man.

No other relationship between the two has been confirmed.

After the video went viral, people are fiercely surrounding the Rajasthan government on social media.

Along with this, questions are being raised about the Congress ‘I am a girl, I can fight’ campaign.

BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted: “In the Ashok Gehlot government, questions have been raised about the safety and dignity of women and the situation is getting worse day by day.

“Ashok Gehlot, who has worked for the Gandhi family all the time, should take care of the state.”
