"He had been stalking her despite his advances being rejected."
An unnamed Indian woman, aged 47, from Dombivli, Maharashtra was arrested by police on Thursday, December 27, 2018, after she had hacked off the penis of a man who had been stalking her.
It was heard that the married woman sought the help of two men before luring the man to an isolated area and attacking him.
Tushar Pujare, aged 27, had been sexually harassing the woman for the past few months and constantly asked her for sexual favours.
Approximately two weeks before the incident, the man had met with the woman’s husband and told him that he was in love with his wife and wanted to marry her.
This led to an argument between the woman and her husband. According to a police statement, it stated:
“Following a fight with her husband, the woman got angry and decided to teach Pujare a lesson.”
She spoke to Tejas Mahatre, aged 22, and Pravin Kenia, aged 25, and asked for their help.
They contacted the victim and lured him to an isolated industrial zone in Dombivli on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.
When Pujare reached the area, Mahatre and Kenia assaulted him. When the woman arrived at the location, she asked her accomplices to hold Pujare.
The two men then tied Pujare to a tree where the woman took a sharp knife and chopped off his genitals.
A police spokesperson said: “Pujare was in love with the married woman and had been pestering her for sexual favours.
“He had been stalking her despite his advances being rejected.”
She later rushed the man to a nearby hospital as she did not want the man to die. She also confessed to the crime.
The man underwent emergency surgery and was later transferred to AIMS hospital.
Senior Inspector Gajanan Kabdule said: “The man is stable now and recuperating in hospital but his family is in shock.”
The woman was arrested by Manpada police on suspicion of attempted murder and was questioned.
She initially said that she committed the crime alone, but after further interrogation, she told the police about Mahatre and Kenia.
Inspector Kabdule said: “We have arrested the woman and two accomplices and she has accepted it was her plan to chop off the stalker’s penis because of his constant harassment.
“We recovered the knife and genitals and all three accused are in police custody.
“On the basis of the woman’s confession, we arrested Mahatre and Kenia too.”
A relative of Kenia said: “We do not understand how he got involved in the crime. His life is ruined now.”
