"Her husband mentally tortured her by not having a physical relationship with her."
An Indian woman chopped off her husband’s penis as he refused to have sex with her throughout their 10-year marriage. She chopped it off with a kitchen knife.
The incident happened on 9th March 2017, around 9:30 am. The 30-year-old woman attacked her husband in their home. The couple had no children, which supposedly caused frequent martial arguments between them.
She claims this as the reason why she chopped off her husband’s penis.
Circle officer, Anil Kumar Yadav said: “She told the police that her husband mentally tortured her by not having a physical relationship with her and avoided having children with her.”
Becoming increasingly frustrated, the woman attacked her husband. She reportedly attacked him with a grinder stone as he came out of the bedroom. Left unconscious, the woman proceeded to cut her husband’s penis off with a “kitchen knife”.
The Indian woman locked her husband in the bedroom after the attack. She went to the police station, surrendered and confessed her actions. However, she does not feel any remorse.
In her defence, she reportedly said: “He used boast about his manhood and told me that he can have children with other women but not me. I still tolerated him. I don’t know the reason why he hates me.
“On Wednesday night, there was a fight again and he did not heed my requests to have children.
“It was when all the efforts failed that I picked up the kitchen knife and attacked him.”
“I have no regrets as I suffered a lot of humiliation and mental torture from him. I had no answers when my relatives asked me the reason for not having children.”
The police also revealed that after she cut off her husband’s penis, he soon regained consciousness. He called a friend to help him. A private Noida hospital admitted him in. He reportedly suffered major blood loss and surgeons operated to reattach the penis.
Surgeon Dr Saurabh Gupta said: “He is in a critical situation but we are hoping that he will survive. In such cases, the patient is able to reproduce after the surgery.”
The investigation will continue as police recovered the weapon used from the couple’s home.
