A police case has been registered after an Indian wife beat her husband after he refused to eat the potato curry she had prepared.

The incident happened in Gujarat on Friday, August 7, 2020.

The man had refused to eat the meal due to his diabetes, however, his wife was angered and she ended up beating him so severely that he suffered a fractured shoulder.

Harshad Gohel, aged 40, from Ahmedabad in Gujarat filed a police complaint on August 8, saying that his wife had beaten him.

He explained that his wife assaulted him after he refused to eat the meal prepared by his wife.

Harshad said he is a diabetes patient and that his doctor advised him not to eat potatoes.

In his FIR, Harshad said that his wife, Tara Gohel, often fought with him.

On the night of the attack, he had asked her what she had made for dinner. When she said that she had made potato curry with chapattis, he refused.

Harshad explained: “I objected to this and asked why she had made potato curry even when she knew it wasn’t good for my health.

“This did not go well with my wife who started abusing me.”

Tara then went into the bathroom and returned with a washing bat. The Indian wife then started beating her husband with it.

When Harshad screamed for help, members of his family rushed in and rescued him.

The victim was taken to VS Hospital in the Ellisbridge area. It was revealed that he had fractured his right shoulder.

A medico-legal case was filed at VS Hospital. Meanwhile, the police were called and Tara was booked under charges of causing hurt and uttering abusive words.

Police are currently conducting an investigation.

In another case of domestic abuse committed by a woman, a man from Bengaluru shared the abuse he suffered at the hands of his wife.

Thananjeyan revealed that the beatings have gone on since marriage. Not only does she beat him but she also verbally abuses him.

He said that the beatings resulted in knee ligament damage which went unnoticed until February 2020 when he visited the doctor.

While the doctor suggested surgery, it was not urgent so Thananjeyan did not go through with the procedure.

However, the next month, he was beaten with a cricket bat which meant that he had to have the surgery.
