Indian Wife beats Husband before Filing for Divorce

An Indian wife was caught on camera beating her husband before filing for divorce.

Footage of the domestic violence was shared on social media and it sparked a discussion over her alleged motives.

The incident reportedly took place in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh.

The video showed the unnamed woman walking around the living room, appearing to state that she would be leaving her husband.

Meanwhile, a bag is on the seat.

The husband is filming while another man is sitting nearby.

According to a social media post, the other man is her lover.

The Indian wife is heard trying to justify her reasons for divorce, making several accusations against her husband, including that he tried to poison her.

The husband soon gets up and asks the alleged lover what his name is.

Throughout the video, the husband is asked why he is filming.

However, things take a violent turn as the woman picks up a slipper and begins to hit her husband, demanding that he end the video.

The alleged lover and another woman intervene to try and stop the wife.

Taking place in front of a child, the husband pleads with his wife to stop before obliging with her demands.

The video was shared on X and the user claimed the wife’s divorce request was part of a bigger scheme to extort money.

The user, named Rahul Sharma, alleged that she filed false police cases against her husband.

It read: “This woman willingly left her matrimonial home with a guy after brutally beating her husband.

“She started filing multiple cases to extort money.”

Rahul went on to claim that the woman has a history of extortion, having taken money from her in-laws’ after her first husband’s death.

The caption added: “This was her second marriage, in her 1st marriage she extorted 21 Lakh rupees (£18,900) from her in-laws after her husband’s death.”

In the comments section, many called for the woman’s arrest.

But based on the original post, netizens accused her of exploiting women-centric laws in India, something that is not uncommon.

One said: “It’s the reality of the misuse of laws in favour of women.”

Another wrote: “This is appalling and very disheartening, being a woman doesn’t make one a victim but the malpractices are such in the system and loopholes exploiters’ are found in these laws.”

However, others pointed out that not everything is known about the incident, with some wondering if the husband treated her poorly.

A user said: “While it’s true that a few women do misuse women-centric laws, it’s wrong to judge this woman without knowing the full info.

“Often, those who come out loud may seem to be evil, but if you dig deep, you would find they are actually good people at heart.”
