The time has finally arrived fellas, it is time to take off them turtlenecks and thick socks because it is about to get hot. So take a seat and let DESIblitz heat you up for this seasons anticipated spring/summer 2014 trends.

Designers at Jil Sander, Dolce and Gabana and Spencer were out in full force this season showcasing their amazing designs.

We’ll be looking at the basic rules this season and the main colours to look out for. Floral prints are making a comeback, whites and block prints with hues of blue and grey are also hot this season.

White and Creams are Making a Splash

Trends for MenThis season white and creams are the essential colours for Spring/Summer 2014. So if you’re the clumsy type it’s time to invest in a bib, because to look the hottest this season these are the colors to be seen in.

The designers over at Jil Sander and Spencer Hart showcased all white suites with hints of pink. In terms of cuts and fittings there was no specific style, so whether you’re a little plump or petite there is something for everyone.

Cuts this season ranged from wide fit, slim fit and cropped trousers. So men, get adventurous. White jackets are also hot this season, so keep your sleeves rolled up to achieve the Hamptons weekend look.

For this season’s colour our hot pick comes from the designers over at Ports 1961 with their all white suit and cropped trousers, this look gives you that spring/summer feel with just the right amount of ankle peep.

The outfit as a whole screams out sophisticated beach party. Paired with brown brogues it creates that relaxed yet formal summer attire. So this season it is all about making a statement from colours, prints and fits.

Block Prints are Staying Firm

Trends for MenIf you thought block prints were staying in your winter wardrobe, you’re wrong.

They are merging their way into spring/summer with horizontal stripes replacing squares with blues and greys being the hottest palette.

As exhibited by Valentino and Mihara Yasuhiro, in order to make a statement you need to be seen rocking the block prints.

The main rule to adapt this trend across formal to causal is to keep your bottom half plain, in blocked colour and let your torso do the talking.

The designers over at Moschino completely had us stunned with their horizontal stripped printed shirt with a pop of floral.

Florals are Making a Comeback

Trends for MenFrom Hawaiian print swim shorts to an entire floral print suit. Floral prints are making their way back this spring/summer 2014 and have been labeled as the print of the season.

Adapting the floral print, Gucci glamourized their catwalk by creating luxury floral suits. Perfect for those men who love to impress at cocktail parties.

If you’re looking for something a bit more fun then you may want to take a look at what the designers over at Prada are cooking. DESIblitz would award Prada with this season’s must have item; their Hawaiian print jumper.

This jumper has everything you need to look hot this season. Its vintage yet current appeal makes this item perfect for those summer BBQ’s that turn into a night on the town.

If you’re looking for something a bit safer then you might want to check out Burberry Prorsum, who have created an all printed shirt that can make you look like the boy next door in no time.

Leather in the Sun

Trends for MenLeather has been reworked this season overlapping Autumn/Winter 2013/2014 with new loose, yet structured shorts, bottoms and T-shirts.

All the top designers have incorporated leathers into their collections with Hermes sporting a gothic look. The theme of leather has been crafted and molded to create a boho summer themed style.

What really stood out was the use of leather within tailoring, Dior Homme created a school boy tailored shorts look which definitely took the fabric of leather to new heights.

Pink is the new Black

Trends for MenAccording to well-loved fashion designer, Tom Ford, only real men wear pink. And the great Tom Ford was not lying; the catwalks this season were flooded with various shades of pink.

Alan Taylor showcased soft pastels and Lanvin went daring with bright magenta.

Of course it can be a bold choice to make, but a hint of the hue in your outfit can really add that sophisticated summery touch.

So, gentlemen you have trends, now it is up to you to get your wardrobe sizzling this Spring/Summer 2014.

Remember your main colours are pink, white, blue and grey. Your prints should consist of block horizontal stripes, floral prints and an element of leather.

Dare to be bold this season; leave the woolly knits and dark black overcoats of winter in the back of the closet, it’s time for Spring!
