"Men found in these coaches may face fines."

A video has circulated on social media depicting a disturbing scene.

The clip showed Indian police ushering men out of a train that was allegedly only for women.

The user who shared the clip wrote: “Officers slap men who are on a female-only train in India.”

Men who were on the train in the video were seen being bundled out of it by the police.

It also seemed that the police were being rough with them, slapping and pushing them out.

This was done by female officers who then entered the train when it became less crowded.

After stepping inside, the police continued to push male passengers out.

They also seemed to make sure that the women in the vehicle were safe.

On X, the clip attracted many comments that supported the actions of the officers.

One user wrote: “In India, women-only train coaches aim to ensure safety for female passengers.

“Men found in these coaches may face fines or reprimands, including being slapped by officers, to enforce the rules strictly.”

Another person added: “India just seems like an awful place to be a woman.”

A third user questioned: “I do wonder if getting slapped is worth the perks of travelling on the female-only train.

“Is there a male-only train? And how bad is it that men would rather get slapped than ride it?”

In 2009, India introduced eight female-only railway vehicles in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

Such trains aimed to provide safety and comfort for working women.

Sangeeta, who frequented such compartments, said that men often harass women on trains.

She explained: “They touch and pinch. Here, nobody passes lewd comments. Nobody teases us – it’s great.

“Sometimes men board the ladies’ compartment, and when we ask them to leave or get aside, they start to argue.”

“They say that if ladies can travel in gents’ compartments, they should be able to travel in ladies’ compartments.”

Sheila Sharma added: “This is a godsend. We’ve been waiting for something like this for so long.

“We fought for a long time, and then we got two coaches for women in local trains.

“But it was not enough, there were so many women. We didn’t find space to sit.

“We used to feel so tired standing during the journey. But now we sit comfortably, and the travel is good.”
