A video has circulated of an Indian husband being beaten by his wife and mother-in-law.

It was reported that the woman had travelled to Phulpur Police Station in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, to file a complaint against her husband.

She was accompanied by her mother, however, it was not known why she was lodging a complaint against her husband Kishan Kumar, a resident of Pindra.

After receiving the complaint, officers contacted Kishan and requested him to come to the police station.

At the police station, the husband and wife discussed matters and seemed to have resolved things.

But as soon as they left the police station, the husband and wife began arguing.

The woman and her mother then began assaulting him.

The woman, who was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, and her mother, dressed in a saree, verbally abused Kishan and slapped him.

Seeing the Indian husband being beaten, a crowd quickly gathered.

Some members of the crowd even started filming the incident.

Those who were filming urged the two women to stop their attack, even threatening to upload the footage online in order to attract widespread attention.

However, both women stated that they did not care and continued beating Kishan.

Officers from Phulpur Police Station heard the commotion and intervened, putting an end to the violence.

Kishan has since lodged an assault complaint against his wife and mother-in-law.

In India, people taking matters into their own hands is a common sight.

In a previous incident, a 29-year-old Indian man from Buttar, Punjab, was kidnapped and beaten by members of a girl’s family after he was accused of harassing her.

The man was then left outside his house. A video of the incident circulated and a woman can be heard asking him his reason for talking to the girl.

The man was identified as Gurjeet Singh.

Gurjeet had been abducted by two men before he was beaten with sticks. He was later dumped outside his house. They believed that he was harassing a young woman in their family after the victim constantly called her.

Gurjeet was taken to a hospital where he later told police officers what had happened.

Based on his statement, a case was registered against seven family members, including a woman.
