It has been revealed that a wife who was jailed over a petrol bomb plot against her mother-in-law went “crazy” when her husband cheated on her.

In June 2022, Christina Place found her car on fire after it was petrol-bombed outside her home in Wrexham, North Wales, in a revenge attack.

The feud stemmed from Alisha Anwar believing her mother-in-law thought she wasn’t “good enough” for her son.

Ms Place said Anwar was “obsessed” with her son and they had a “toxic” relationship.

She said the 29-year-old was a “lunatic” who threatened to slash his clothes and trainers.

Mother-of-two Anwar accused him of “cheating on her” and made a reference to another woman “more than 20 times” in angry videos she sent to him.

Ms Place told Daily Mail that Anwar once banged on her door “accusing him of cheating on her” but they had only been seeing each other for two weeks.

Her son “admitted to cheating on her on one occasion” but Anwar got him arrested after she filed several false allegations with the police.

Ms Place said Anwar “wasn’t going to be happy until she took his soul” and even “pleaded with him to take her back” and said she only went to the police “out of revenge”.

Ms Place said her son “would never have gone off with someone else” if “she had treated him better”.

Anwar eventually paid Luke Williams £150 to torch Ms Place’s car behind her house.

Earlier in July 2024, Anwar was jailed for 16 months and given a two-year restraining order to protect her mother-in-law.

Anwar admitted conspiracy to commit arson.

A family relative said: “He regrets the day he ever met her.

“The woman can’t let go of him. Even last month before she was jailed over all this nightmare, she sent him a message saying she wanted to get back with him.

“She told him she loved him and wanted him back. It’s real Fatal Attraction stuff.”

Mold Crown Court heard Ms Place was in her living room at about 1 am when her dogs started barking.

She looked out and saw an “orange glow” by a fence panel and soon realised her car was on fire.

After Ms Place exited her home, flames spread to two other cars and a property which had to be evacuated.

Two fire crews spent 90 minutes trying to bring the fire under control.

The judge said it “almost beggared belief” that Williams bought petrol from a garage and filled a jerry can with it before targeting the parked vehicle.

Williams pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit arson.

He was jailed for 16 months with eight more months, activated from a suspended sentence, to run consecutively.
