One person appeared to set three missiles alight
Disturbing footage showed the moment petrol bombs were thrown at partygoers and supercars outside a Birmingham wedding venue.
Three missiles were hurled towards guests outside the Royal Shalimar venue on Highgate Road, Sparkbrook, on the evening of August 19.
Another two petrol bombs were thrown at a Lamborghini and a McLaren parked outside the venue.
One of the missiles struck the front of the venue while hundreds of guests were inside attending a wedding.
Disaster was reportedly averted by venue staff, who tackled the flames with fire extinguishers before emergency services arrived.
Young partygoers dressed in traditional attire and a baby were among those outside and narrowly avoided the burning missiles.
Footage showed three people dressed in black standing across the road from the venue.
One person appeared to set three missiles alight before throwing them towards the building.
Another member of the group then crossed the road and appeared to ignite two further petrol bombs.
Those missiles were thrown towards the cars parked outside before all three people fled the scene.
Shocked partygoers scattered as flames spread, with some reportedly getting into other supercars to move them away from danger.
Venue staff then raced outside and used fire extinguishers to tackle the flames before firefighters and police arrived.
Footage captured by a passing motorist showed the aftermath, with people attempting to kick burning missiles away from the cars.
A burst of flame could also be seen streaking across the road as people tried to move away from the danger.
