"If all goes well, the actor will kick off the project"
According to reports, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan will be expanding his horizon and is all set to make his Hollywood debut.
It is speculated that Hrithik will star as the parallel lead in a big-budget spy thriller. The project is reportedly backed by a notable production house in the United States.
Although the 46-year-old actor is yet to make a formal announcement, the rumours are rife.
A source claimed that Hrithik has even sent his audition tape to the Hollywood producers.
The source told Mid-Day: “As is customary in Los Angeles, Hrithik’s team was given details of his role in the movie and the scenes that he had to tape.
“He sent his audition to the studio two weeks ago. The discussion is at a nascent stage.
“If all goes well, the actor will kick off the project after completing the shoot of Krrish 4.”
Despite the rumours, a spokesperson for the actor remained quiet about the possibility of a Hollywood debut.
The spokesperson said: “We have no information about this.”
Rumours that Hrithik will be making his Hollywood debut soon has even more weight to it given the fact that he signed with The Gersh Agency, a talent agency based in Beverly Hills, California, in early 2020.
After it was revealed he signed with the agency, his fans speculated that he may be looking towards Hollywood.
His manager Amrita Sen said at the time: “Hrithik has always been an envelope pusher.
“For the last 20 years, Hrithik has been helping to drive Indian cinema into new genres, new narrative concepts and ever-more sophisticated storytelling.
“He is excited about the fact that the market for global content, which features characters and stories from other parts of the world, couldn’t be stronger than it is today.
“With Hrithik’s leadership, our goal is to continue to put India in a front and centre position on the path towards globalisation and diversity and help integrate creators into new markets that were previously not available to them.
“In partnership with Gersh, we will now be taking Hrithik’s ambitious vision around the world.”
Although nothing has been said by the actor, it may only be a matter of time before he announces his Hollywood debut.
On the work front in Bollywood, Hrithik was last seen in the biopic Super 30 and the action thriller War.
War was a huge success and went on to become the highest-grossing film of 2019.
Hrithik Roshan will be next seen in Krrish 4, which directed by his father Rakesh Roshan. The project was delayed due to the veteran filmmaker’s diagnosis that he had early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat, which are a number of different types of cancer.
Krrish 4 was set to start filming in early 2020, however, the Covid-19 pandemic halted production.
