It’s that time of year when one of the biggest awards ceremonies in Bollywood takes place, the Filmfare Awards. The 54th awards event will take place in Mumbai this year on 28th February 2009.

Technology wise, there have been some changes to the awards. A new sponsor, Idea Cellular, Tarun Rai, CEO of Worldwide Media Pvt Ltd, have been appointed to enhance the mobile technology aspect of the awards. This is the first time the awards are being delivered across a mobile platform. This new partnership with Filmfare, will make the event available on SMS, voice and WAP portals. Mobile users will have access to clips, wallpapers and trivia on their mobile phones.

Two of the biggest films of 2008, Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, have made it to the list with ease due to their huge success, therefore, making it an interesting night for Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

Ghajini is tipped for winning the best movie,  Aamir for best actor, Priyanka for female best actor, A.R. Rahman to win the music category, KK for singing ‘ Zara Si Dil Mein’ for the best male singer award and Shreya Ghoshal in the female singing category for ‘Teri Ore’ from Singh is Kinng.
