“All this over a dispute that had nothing to do with him"

A 70-year-old man from Bahawalpur was left unconscious after being violently assaulted in Qaimpur.

The attack was reportedly over a financial dispute involving his son, who worked abroad.

The disturbing incident has triggered public outrage, especially after a video of the attack began circulating on social media.

Hafeez Sajid was allegedly abducted by three brothers – Shahroz, Asif, and Adeel.

The trio took him to their private outhouse and subjected him to severe torture.

According to locals, the root of the conflict lies in Malaysia, where Hafeez’s son, Waqar, had worked alongside Shahroz.

A financial disagreement between the two reportedly led to Shahroz returning to Pakistan.

Soon after his return, his brothers allegedly began threatening Waqar’s father.

The threats escalated into physical violence when Hafeez Sajid was abducted in broad daylight.

During the ordeal, his captors took his mobile phone and made a video call to Waqar in Malaysia.

They forced him to watch as his elderly father was brutally beaten.

The torture only stopped when Hafeez lost consciousness.

Eventually, local residents intervened and convinced the attackers to release him, though they reportedly issued fresh threats before letting him go.

Outrage has poured in from across the community and beyond.

Viewers of the viral video expressed fury and disbelief, condemning the cruelty inflicted on an elderly man.

A user said: “All this over a dispute that had nothing to do with him directly.”

Another wrote: “Unbelievable. These people don’t deserve any mercy. The Pakistan government, especially the Punjab government, need to make an example out of it.”

One commented: “Moments like these make me grateful for hell and God’s punishment for such tyrants.”

Another said:

“It’s one thing to attack an elderly man. But to force his son to watch from another country. That’s evil in its rawest form.”

Following public pressure, Qaimpur Police took swift action.

SHO Ayub Gujar registered a case, and the suspects were arrested as legal proceedings began.

The incident has since sparked broader discussions about rising rural lawlessness.

Hafeez Sajid is currently recovering from his injuries.

However, many believe that the emotional trauma will take far longer to heal.

As public anger continues to grow, calls for a strict and swift trial have grown louder, with many demanding an example be set.
