"Even ChatGPT could have done a better job."
Following her lavish pre-wedding, Radhika Merchant has now been accused of copying her speech from the Hollywood film Shall We Dance?
Radhika and Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebration made headlines all over the world.
Costing over £100 million, the three-day event saw over 1,000 high-profile guests attend.
During the event, Radhika gave a heartfelt speech to her soon-to-be husband.
However, social media users have pointed out that Radhika’s speech was almost identical to the one Susan Sarandon gave to Richard Jenkins in the 2004 film.
The speech goes: “In a marriage, you’re promising to care about everything; the good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things – all of it all the time.
“Every day you’re saying your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it.
“Your life will not go unwitnessed because I will be your witness.”
Meanwhile, Radhika’s speech went:
“But when you find somebody you find somebody to promise you to care about everything; the good, the bad, the beautiful, the (sic), the mundane.
“You say I will see you everyday.
“Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it.
“Your life will not go unwitnessed because I will witness it.”
The speech went unnoticed until a film fan posted both clips on Instagram.
On social media, fans expressed their disappointment.
One wrote: “Even ChatGPT could have done a better job.”
Another said: “That’s what money can’t buy… class and creativity.”
A third added: “Ouch that’s quite embarrassing.. she couldn’t write a few heartfelt words.”
A comment read: “She couldn’t even write an original true speech for her big fat wedding? Such a shame!”

However, others came to Radhika Merchant’s defence, with one commenting:
“Who knows this could be one of her favorite scenes and while she was growing up she visualised saying this each time she watched it.
“Look at the brighter side instead of bashing people online.”
Another asked: “What is the problem if she took the dialogue exactly from the scene? Many do that.”
Whether the speech was copied or not, Anant and Radhika hope to have more trust in each other than the characters in Shall We Dance?
The rom-com follows a married man as John (Richard Gere) stays out every night fulfilling his newfound passion for dancing.
His wife (Susan Sarandon) gets suspicious and hires a private investigator (Richard Jenkins) to watch him.
