it has now surpassed SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to break box office records as it becomes the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film follows Ranveer Singh as Indian operative Hamza, who infiltrates terror networks in Karachi.
Other cast members include Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun.
After 50 days of being in cinemas, the spy-action film has grossed over Rs. 1,800 crore worldwide.
This means that it has now surpassed SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2.
Now in second place, the only Indian film with a higher worldwide gross is Dangal, which has earnings of around Rs. 2,000 crore.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has maintained strong momentum despite competition from several new theatrical releases in India and overseas markets.
Industry observers have pointed to the film’s consistent footfall and repeat audience viewership as key reasons behind its record-breaking performance.
The film generated around Rs. 1,362 crore from the domestic market, while overseas territories contributed over Rs. 450 crore.
Strong turnout in North America and the UK significantly boosted its international performance.
One of the film’s biggest achievements has been its reception across South Indian markets, which have traditionally been dominated by regional productions.
Following the success of the original Hindi version, the makers released dubbed editions that reportedly generated around Rs. 300 crore from southern territories alone.
The film’s success has also been viewed as a major moment for Bollywood, particularly after years of dominance from large-scale southern pan-India productions.
Baahubali 2, led by Prabhas, had long been regarded as one of Indian cinema’s most difficult box office records to surpass.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now being credited with reviving the commercial strength of high-concept Hindi cinema on a global scale.
Producers are also looking to extend the film’s momentum with an upcoming digital release featuring an extended cut. The new version is expected to include around 20 minutes of previously unseen footage.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be available on Netflix from May 15, 2026.
While the film has now overtaken Baahubali 2, matching Dangal’s global record remains a significant challenge.
Much of the sports drama’s historic earnings came from its extraordinary performance in China, where the Aamir Khan-led film reportedly grossed more than Rs. 1,300 crore alone.
