“Zumbees? Everyone’s up for a joke on Chand Raat.”

The upcoming Pakistani cinematic thriller Zombeid features Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in a bloody fight for survival.

A high-intensity trailer for the movie dropped to reveal Pakistan’s first official foray into zombie horror.

The footage promises a visceral experience that combines intense graphic gore with the classic style of local Pakistani humour.

Set within the bustling streets of Karachi, the plot follows an outbreak during the festive season of Eid

Mustafa portrays a talented mixed martial artist who must protect his romantic interest, played by the celebrated actress Hayat.

Chaos erupts at a cage match venue where a mysterious virus begins to turn the local citizens into zombies.

The central pair joins forces with a group of terrified civilians to escape the growing nightmare before help arrives.

Initial reports of the undead are met with deep scepticism by the local law enforcement agencies in the city.

One dismissive police officer reacts with annoyance when he hears about the strange sightings during the busy holiday period.

He says: “Zumbees? Everyone’s up for a joke on Chand Raat.”

Eventually, the government intervenes as the scale of the disaster becomes too large for anyone to ignore or deny.

The subsequent action sequences draw heavily on the iconic eighties blockbuster movies First Blood and Die Hard.

Mustafa is seen wearing a sleeveless tank top and a bandana, which draws clear parallels to the character Rambo.

He uses his martial arts skills to punch and kick the white-eyed creatures in several intense fight scenes.

During a tense moment, the leading man pays tribute to a legendary science fiction classic from the year 1984.

He said: “I’ll be back.”

This line famously originated from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s performance in the successful film The Terminator.

Another sequence shows the hero leaping off a tall building in a style reminiscent of the character John McClane.

This death-defying stunt reminded many fans of the holiday action favourite known to audiences as the film Die Hard.

Zombeid appears to be a project designed specifically for those who can handle extreme levels of graphic on-screen violence.

The production represents a bold step forward for the film industry in Pakistan by exploring a brand new subgenre.

Fans are eager to see the chemistry between the lead actors as they battle hordes of hungry brain-eating zombies.

The film will hit theatres globally in just over a couple of weeks to coincide with the Eid-ul-Azha 2026 celebrations.
