"They will sue you for hundreds of thousands of pounds."
BBC’s The Traitors is a hugely popular competition series that centres on contestants engaging in strategy, suspicion, and deception.
However, the contestants are at risk of being fined thousands of pounds behind the scenes.
Jaz Singh, who participated in the show in its second series, revealed a secret rule that stars from The Traitors must follow.
If they fail to comply, they may be fined a huge amount of money.
Jaz told The Sun: “You have to get a ton of stuff prepared.
“How you’re going to deliver this information to various family members to keep this a secret because you’re under an NDA.
“And they will sue you for hundreds of thousands of pounds of TV damages if this gets leaked.
“So it is such a tactful process, and then to get on eventually, it’s mind-blowing.
“You are playing the game before you even enter that castle, before you even get a tap on the shoulder, before you put their blindfolds on, before Claudia says, ‘Hello’.”
Jaz Singh is an account manager, and during his time on The Traitors, he was called ‘Jazatha Christie’.
He impressed the audience with his detective skills and secured a place in the final.
He narrowly missed out on winning when his fellow finalist, Mollie Pearce, ended up letting Harry Clark go home with all the money.
Detailing this, Jaz continued: “Harry was so protected by everybody, that I thought, the only time I’m going to be able to take him down is right at the end when there are very few numbers.
“Because that is when that barrier will be removed and there will be no protection.
“So there was only Mollie to protect him, and unfortunately Mollie did protect him.
“I didn’t want to be a Faithful.
“But it was almost like I had to really appreciate the fact that I’d been given this opportunity and it was now my time to graft and put the work in.”
Jaz also divulged why he applied to the competition in the first place.
He said: “I think it was my in-laws, to be honest.
“They were halfway through an episode of Series 1 and said to me and the missus, ‘Have you watched this? Sit down with us and watch this right now’.
“We watched it, looked at each other and said, ‘This is just amazing’.
“I liked everything about it. Obviously, we then watched the whole series and it totally resonated with everything I’ve been through.
“After watching, I never thought there was going to be a second series, that I was going to apply, and I was going to be selected.
“It’s like the stars have aligned themselves.
“I’m a bit cheesy and I think everything happens for a reason but, genuinely, everything just feels right.”
The Traitors is currently nearing the final for its third season.
The show continues on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 8 pm on BBC One.
