"Every groom should wear it this winter season."
Manish Malhotra sets the runways on fire after opening for India Couture Week 2016 with his ‘Persian Story’ on July 20, 2016.
His entire collection is inspired by Persia and boasts the empire’s exotic flora and enchanting architecture.
His designs are truly fit for the royals ruling Persia’s immense kingdoms.
Malhotra’s models elegantly showcases his lehengas, incorporated with intricate designs hand-woven onto golden, deep maroon, emerald green and azure blue fabric.
Starting the show off with a bangis Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, who looks nothing short of a true Persian prince.
He flaunts a royal maroon sherwani, paired with palazzo bottoms, that is dressed under a long, black velvet jacket with delicate gold embroidery on the lapel pocket.
Keeping calm in the hot weather, he says: “It was daunting for me [but] I love ‘The Persian Story’.
“This is a very comfortable sherwani and every groom should wear it this winter season.”
Everyone eagerly anticipates for Bollywood’s gorgeous goddess: Deepika Padukone.
Closing the show, she gracefully reigns the runway in a lehenga that takes Malhotra a significant effort to complete.
The designer says: “The embroidery is very old world and architecturally intricate. It took us three months to complete.”
Deepika flaunts this piece of fine work in a bold lehenga. With glittering gold embroidery woven onto red velvet, it is perfectly paired with an off-the-shoulder blouse.
The actress also gives insight to how ornate this lehenga is:
“I started my career as a model and I can say that I have never been so tired because this is the heaviest. I was actually gasping for breath.”
