"It’s playful, graceful, and beautifully made."
Sara Ali Khan was the undisputed star of the runway as she closed Aisha Rao’s debut couture showcase at India Couture Week.
The actress walked as the showstopper in Aisha’s latest collection, Wild at Heart, a striking celebration of nature, memory, and maximalist glamour.
Sara said: “I’ve always been drawn to pieces that tell a story, and this look really does that for me.
“I’m wearing the XX lehenga with XX embroidery by Aisha, and what I love about it is how light and effortless it feels.
“Every detail is so thoughtfully done… It’s playful, graceful, and beautifully made. I’m so glad I get to wear something that feels so me today. Thanks, Aisha.”

Sara Ali Khan’s presence embodied the spirit of the entire collection.
Aisha Rao’s designs reimagined bridal and occasion wear through a deeply personal lens.
Each look was steeped in emotion, rich in detail, and anchored in the idea that fashion can be both fantastical and grounded.
Aisha Rao’s Wild at Heart was described as “a love letter to nature in all its untamed glory”.

The collection played with contrasts: metallics clashed with florals, tailored blazers met dramatic drapes, and structured silhouettes flirted with softness.
Signature appliqué work and surrealist storytelling tied the vision together.
The pieces drew from botanical motifs, banana leaves, lotus flowers, palm fronds, and transformed them into architectural garments.
Florals were hand-drawn and layered over sharp tailoring.

Aisha said: “Presenting our debut couture collection at India Couture Week has been nothing short of a dream.
“Wild at Heart is deeply personal, an expression of fantasy, freedom, and everything we love about maximalism.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the platform, for the collaborators who believed in the vision, and for the chance to reimagine bridal and occasion wear on such a grand, storied stage.”
The show space, developed in collaboration with Kohler, mirrored the wild-meets-luxury theme.
Oversized gold palms towered over sculptural forms drenched in Kohler’s signature Teakberry, Lush Green and Brushed Rose Gold.
It was tropical meets modern, indoor meets outdoor; a visual metaphor for Aisha’s collection, which balanced extravagance with control.

Aisha Rao also partnered with SHREE Jewellers for the runway.
The exclusive capsule featured sculptural fine jewellery designed to extend the collection’s dreamy aesthetic.
Think rose cuts and briolettes, coloured stones set in heritage-inspired forms and diamonds shaped into abstract floral flourishes.
Though the collection dazzled, all eyes were on Sara Ali Khan. Her look epitomised the collection’s essence: bold yet graceful, structured yet romantic.

As Aisha’s showstopper, Sara’s walk felt like a visual full stop to the designer’s fashion fable.
She embodied not just the clothes but the imaginative world Aisha created. It was storytelling through fabric, and Sara was the perfect narrator.
With this debut, Aisha Rao firmly positioned herself as a couture force ready to shape the future of Indian occasion wear.
And with Sara Ali Khan leading the finale, that future looked vibrant, whimsical, and unafraid to be wild at heart.
