When Manish describes his collection, he says it is ‘a reinvented Indian couture line celebrating old-world embroidery and art, craft, along with ancestral Indian trends mixed with Persian influences’.
Pakistani actor Fawad Khan says: “I set to open the collection and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is set to close it.”
Deepika has walked for his collection in the past. Manish speaks of her highly:
“Deepika for me is that actor who has single-mindedly worked towards being where she is today and improved and evolved over time.
“She speaks the language of today and carries any kind of garment with a coolness which is very contemporary, along with grace, elegance and world charm.”
Here is the schedule of the 2016 show:
Top designer Rohit Bal will be showcasing his work on July 24 in the finale.
Inspired by Russia, his garments will be luxurious in cut, while his orange flower embroidery is expected on anarkalis and jackets.
His collection will be oozing with gold, stone and emerald detailing on the clothing.
Rohit says: ““I have been able to showcase my collection that transcends all seasons and reflects my unbridled sense of aesthetics.
“The FDCI has enabled not just ace designers, but also aspiring ones to embrace the fashion industry, in reaching out to consumers worldwide and furthering the business of fashion.”
Fashion designers Tarun Tahillani and Anita Dongre will also be showcasing their collection.
Although they both have been associated with FDCI in the past, it will be there first time to participate at the event’s runway.
