"when it came to selecting my showstoppers – my instant choices were Salman and Katrina"
Bollywood’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra dazzled Mumbai with his Couture 2018/2019 collection titled, ‘Zween’.
Heralding the fashion designer’s couture show return after six years, Bollywood’s biggest celebrities stepped out to show their support.
The evening, filled with high glamour and impeccable fashion, also saw the arrival of the industry’s most iconic on-screen Jodi – Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
The pair, who were snapped during the day during rehearsals, descended onto the show dressed in Malhotra’s finest designs.
Katrina’s incredible lehenga blends sparkling silver with earthy tones.
A natural on the runway, Katrina glides down the staircase showing off the glittering ensemble beautifully.
In comparison, Salman wore a classic black sherwani with red lining.
The sherwani features detailing down the front and across the sleeves.
Looking dapper with his band gala collar and silver metalwork, he proved to be the perfect companion for Katrina.
Also at the show was Bollywood Jodi of the moment, Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar.
Jahnvi dazzled in a sea-blue lehenga choli with silver motif work and embroidery.
Her blouse is covered entirely in silver designs over ‘nude-coloured’ fabric, giving us full mermaid feels!
Ishaan proves he can be just as stylish as older brother Shahid Kapoor.
The young star looked handsome in an all-white kurta-pyjama and a red velvet jacket.
The collarless jacket contrasts well with the kurta and make sure you take note of his embroidered velvet loafers!
Also joining the duo was Jahnvi’s younger sister Khushi Kapoor.
Khushi was dressed in a sheer grey halter-style dress with golden motifs and a grey cape.
Also present was Sara Ali Khan who dazzled in a dark stone clouded lehenga with a corset-inspired blouse.
The pallu is attached to the blouse, while the lehenga skirt was full gold motifs.
Opting for a saree-look, Sonal Chauhan stuns in a silky purple ensemble.
The gorgeous pleats fall effortlessly on Sonal’s figure.
The pallu corner is embellished with silver diamantes and pink feathers.
The strapless blouse is a perfect contrast with white lace motifs on nude-hued fabric.
Daisy Shah opted for pastel pink, with this exquisite couture gown covered in leaf patterns and embroidery.
Miss India Manushi Chhillar Turned heads at the couture show with a gold lehenga.
The bikini-style blouse is kept plain and most of the embroidery work is on the skirt.
Iulia Vantur also came in support of close friend Salman.
The presenter turned singer looked exquisite in a sparkly peach saree.
The lace-inspired outfit features full peach and white embroidery across the pallu. She contrasts the saree with a round-neck blouse liked with diamantés.

One of our favourite looks was Athiya Shetty’s lehenga which mixed silver and millennial pink.
The princess-inspired look sees an embroidered blouse in silver.
Manish Malhotra: Zween Couture Collection
‘Zween’ showcases Manish’s Middle-Eastern influences.
The word translates into Arabic as ‘beautiful’ or ‘spectacular’. As a result, the collection of sherwanis and lehengas have all been designed with earthy and sandy tones of the Arabian desert.
In addition, Manish also makes use of 3D textures, including elegant flowers and intricate embroidery.
Speaking to Verve magazine prior to the event, Manish said:
“The couture 2018-19 collection showcase is a very important show for me since I’m doing a solo show in Mumbai after a gap of six years.”
“So when it came to selecting my showstoppers – my instant choices were Salman and Katrina.”
According to Manish, Katrina is the “perfect muse as she embodies soft feminity and grace”.
He added these were “attributes that I thought would go well with a Middle-Eastern look”.
“Salman has always been a man of free will and the charm and elan he exudes, made him an instant choice for a showstopper,” he explained.
The incredible show reunited the Tiger Zinda Hai pair who will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s film, Bharat.
