Tributes have been pouring in for veteran Tamil actor Vivek, who passed away at the age of 59.
Vivek died in Chennai on Saturday, April 17, 2021. The actor suffered a cardiac arrest on Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home in Virugambakkam.
The actor starred in over 200 films over three decades, and was also a comedian, playback singer and social activist.
Vivek’s passing has shocked the Indian film and music industries.
Now, many have taken to social media to pay their last respects to the actor.
Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan paid tribute to Vivek on Twitter, and extended his condolences to those close to the late actor.

Actress Genelia Deshmukh also paid tribute to Vivek, recalling the time she first met him.

Actor Gautham Karthik also paid tribute to Vivek, noting his passion for preserving the environment.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the late actor, and said:

Composer and musician A R Rahman paid his respects to Vivek also, referring to the established legacy he will leave behind.

He is survived by his wife Arulselvi and two daughters.
