"Sinister, menacing, evil, cold, conniving yet brilliant, genius"

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has captivated fans with a picture of himself as the wickedly menacing villain, the Joker.

The supervillain was initially a character found in the Batman film franchise before starring in the 2019 psychological thriller film, Joker.

Ayushmann created a storm on social media when he uploaded a picture as the Joker.

In fact, it was created by artist Swapnil Pawar. Ayushmann’s post has gone viral since his upload on Saturday, 7 June 2020.

Taking to Instagram to share the amazing artwork, Ayushmann quoted the Joker’s infamous dialogue. He wrote:

“‘Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I’m a dog chasing cars.

“I wouldn’t know what to do with one if I caught it … I’m an Agent of Chaos!’”

“- Sinister, menacing, evil, cold, conniving yet brilliant, genius – have always thought of playing a negative character like Joker.

“Thank you @swapnilmpawar for reading my mind and this incredible artwork!”

The actor has never played a villainous character on the big screen but has previously revealed that he would like to do so.

According to a previous interview, the actor shared his interest of playing a negative role. He said:

“I will be happy to play a negative character. I would love to play a morally corrupt person.

“That will be out of my realm. But the message, at the end of the day, should be positive. I don’t want to endorse wrongdoings on-screen.”

Speaking to Mid Day, Ayushmann Khurrana disclosed that he would enjoy playing a Desi joker. He said:

“The audience hasn’t seen the dark side to me. I would love to play a negative character, say a Desi version of the Joker.”

“I find the character fascinating. He represents the side that we all have but don’t acknowledge; the part that doesn’t want to conform to social niceties.

“To make an Indian version of Joker, you need the support of a scriptwriter and a director [who] share the same vision.”

As well as his amazing acting skills, Ayushmann is also known for dabbling in writing. Speaking about the same, he said:

“I wrote [a couplet] when I won the National Award. But more than anything else, I [like to write] about the varied aspects of love, the small joys of life, or even the situation the country is facing.

“I am not self-obsessed to only write about myself. But I need the space to write more poetry and then publish a book. It is on my bucket list and will happen.”

On the work front, Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen in his upcoming film, Gulabo Sitabo (2020) opposite Amitabh Bachchan.

However, due to the impact of Covid-19 on cinema hall closures, the film will be released online on June 12 2020.
