"The project is in the last leg of discussion."
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is reportedly set to romance actress Sara Ali Khan in an upcoming romantic comedy film.
If the reports are to be believed then fans will get the opportunity to see this fresh, new pair onscreen.
It has been alleged that Ayushmann Khurrana is in talks with producer Dinesh Vijan.
This will be the second time the pair team up for a film after the 2019 film, Bala.
Reportedly, the film is helmed to be a romantic comedy and discussions are underway for its new casting.
According to an interaction with Mid-Day, a trade source revealed:
“Considering it has Ayushmann leading from the front, the film – though belonging to the rom-com genre – may well drive an important message home.
“Sara has finished her promotions for Coolie No. 1 and is expected to kick off the shoot of Atrangi Re soon.
“On the other hand, Ayushmann will follow up Chandigarkh Kare Aashiqui with Anubhav Sinha’s next before training his sights on this movie.
“The project is in the last leg of discussion. If all goes well, the film may go on floors by early 2021.”
Despite this, Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana have not confirmed the news.
Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan was busy with promotions for her upcoming release, Coolie No. 1 (2020) opposite Varun Dhawan.
Coolie No. 1 is the remake of the 1995 namesake film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
The film also featured Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Kader Khan and Shakti Kapoor in supporting roles.
The upcoming film features a new cast ensemble. This includes Javeed Jaaferi, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Shikha Talsania.
Coolie No. 1 is scheduled to release on Christmas Day 2020.
Not only that, but the actress has another film underway. Sara will continue shooting for Atrangi Re (2021) with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana is currently working through Diwali as he is busy filming for Abhishek Kapoor’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. The upcoming film also stars Vaani Kapoor.
She revealed that she is spending Diwali in her hotel room. She said:
“I will be spending Diwali in my hotel room this year! Though I will be missing my family and friends terribly, I also realise that there is no way of seeing them and rejoining the shoot of my film.”
“So, to make the most of it, Diwali would be with the cast and crew of my film which I’m sure we’ll make the most of.”
