"I am super stoked about Dream Girl 2!"
Ananya Panday will share the screen with Ayushmann Khurrana in Dream Girl 2.
Dream Girl was released in 2019 and it was a huge hit.
The film saw Ayushmann play Karam Singh, a call centre worker who puts on a woman’s voice and pretends to be Pooja in order to entertain the fantasies of single male callers.
There had been speculation about a possible sequel and now, fans have got their first glimpse.
The teaser featured Karam and two other men discussing the real-life trends that have shaken Bollywood. This includes the box office failures and boycott culture.
In the clip, one says: “Bollywood has got evil’s eye.”
Karam responds: “Yes brother, that is why I am playing movies on DVD and still it is not working, hence I came to Mathura.”
Karam then puts on sunglasses and dials a phone number.
His female alter-ego Pooja answers. ‘Pooja’ then reveals the actors who will be in Dream Girl 2.
Stars who will be in the film include Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee.
‘Pooja’ then says “and” but is interrupted by Ananya Panday, who declares that she will also be in the film.
Ayushmann turns around as he displays a stunned look.
The teaser ends with the announcement that the sequel will release on June 29, 2023.
Ananya will play Ayushmann’s love interest in the film but in a turn of events, Karam becomes Pooja, creating more chaos in his already chaotic life.
The film will be directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa.
On reprising his role, Ayushmann said:

Ayushmann will also star in Doctor G opposite Rakul Preet Singh.
