"I take pride in being called Ayushmann’s wife."
Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, Tahira Kashyap has admitted to feeling insecure about her husband’s love scenes.
The couple has been childhood sweethearts since they met at a tuition class. Since then, Ayushmann and Tahira have been inseparable.
Their relationship had grown from strength to strength as they tied the knot in November 2008.
Eleven years and two children later, Virajveer and Varushka Khurrana, their love has continued to flourish.
In an appearance on an episode of The Love, Laugh, Live Show (SonyLIVE), Tahira revealed how she felt upon seeing Ayushmann’s intimate scenes with Radhika Apte. She explained:
“Yes, I was insecure earlier but when I was watching the edits of Andhadhun, I told the team that something is missing in the make-out scene between Ayushmann and Radhika Apte.
“That moment I realised about the transformation from being an insecure wife to analysing the make-out scenes.”
Tahira continued to state that along with being known as Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife she also has her own identity. She stated:
“I know Ayushmann for 18 years and I take pride in being called Ayushmann’s wife. As far as my identity is concerned, the world has been really receptive to the message I have of self-acceptance.
“People have started to accept me for who I am and my presence, opinion and existence.”
Tahira also went on to discuss her battle with cancer and how she has grown to embrace herself.
Tahira was diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer in 2018. She said:
“There is a lot of self-acceptance and I feel beautiful inside out. I have become stronger.”
Yet, with the devastating news of being diagnosed with breast cancer, Tahira faced another battle of consoling her children.
She explained how her children reacted to her diagnosis, saying:
“At first, Virajveer was devastated and crushed while on the other hand Varushka was intrigued with the process and the look.”
As a result of her cancer, Tahira lost her hair and decided to shave it off. She spoke about her bald look saying:
“It was difficult for my kids to accept my new look because people have created a stereotype of beauty.”
Tahira fought against her illness and is currently fighting fit.There is no doubt Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap is a strong wife, mother and individual.
She has grown to accept that Ayushmann’s intimate scenes onscreen are certainly nothing to feel self-doubting about.
