"There have been a lot of changes in me."
Avneet Kaur stunned in a striking blue dress from Tiger Mist as she promoted her upcoming film Love in Vietnam in Mumbai.
She shared the look with fans on Instagram, writing:
“For #LoveInVietnam promotions in Mumbai. Releasing in cinemas on 12th September.”
Love in Vietnam is a cross-cultural romantic musical drama starring Avneet Kaur and Shantanu Maheshwari.
Directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, it tells a love story set across India and Vietnam, inspired by the classic Turkish novel Madonna in a Fur Coat.
The film combines music, romance and drama, aiming to highlight cultural connections across borders.
It is scheduled for release in Indian cinemas on September 12, 2025, with limited international screenings.
The film’s trailer launch recently made headlines, not only for its unique premise but also for Avneet’s growing online popularity.
During the event, the 23-year-old was asked about the admiration she receives from celebrities, a subtle reference to cricket star Virat Kohli liking one of her glamorous pictures.
Smiling, she responded: “Milta rahe pyaar… Aur kya hi keh sakti hoon (May the love keep coming… what more can I really say).”
The incident involving Kohli sparked a social media frenzy.
Eagle-eyed fans had noticed the cricketer liked a photo of Avneet wearing a lime green crop top and printed mini skirt.
The interaction went viral, prompting memes, speculation, and even trolling across platforms.
As rumours intensified, Kohli addressed the matter on Instagram Stories, explaining:
“I’d like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction.
“There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made.”
For Avneet, the accidental “like” turned into an unexpected career boost.
Reports suggest she gained more than one million followers within days and signed 12 new brand deals, increasing her brand value by 30%.
When asked about handling controversies and online trolling, Avneet gave an honest reflection in an interview with Hindustan Times.
She said: “Over the years, there have been a lot of changes in me. I think a younger me would react to these things.
“A teenage me would want to clarify to people about what is happening and what is not.”
“But now, I try and shift my focus just to the love I am receiving from my fans.”
She added that she no longer feels the need to explain or defend herself, even when faced with speculation.
Instead, she values the support of her loyal fanbase and the opportunities her growing stardom has created.
With Love in Vietnam set for release, her ability to embrace both glamour and authenticity ensures she remains one of Gen Z’s most influential talents.
