"We just broke it on your show”
Arjun Rampal has revealed he is engaged to longtime partner Gabriella Demetriades, though the couple is not married yet.
The actor shared the update while appearing on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast Chapter 2, where the moment unfolded unexpectedly during a candid discussion.
In a teaser clip from the upcoming episode, Gabriella is heard saying:
“We’re not married now, but who knows?”
Arjun then jumped in with the announcement, saying, “But we are engaged! We just broke it on your show”, leaving Rhea visibly surprised.
Arjun and Gabriella have been together since 2019 and share two sons, Arik and Ariv, born in 2019 and July 2023, respectively.
The couple spoke openly about love, parenting, and how their relationship has evolved since becoming parents.
Reflecting on how motherhood reshaped her understanding of love, Gabriella said:
“Your love comes with conditions, it’s like if a person behaves this way, then get my approval or love. But when you have a child, you can’t do that, right?”
The teaser also shows the pair revisiting the early days of their relationship, including Arjun’s cheeky admission about his initial attraction to Gabriella.
Arjun shared: “I went after her because she was hot, then I realised there is a little more to it than just the hotness.”
The actor’s engagement comes over a year after he explained why he and Gabriella were not married.
On Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, he said: “It’s not me, it’s not her. What is marriage? It’s a piece of paper, after all.
“I think we are already married, and there is no doubt in my mind about that.
“But sometimes, that piece of paper can also change you. It’s like you think it’s permanent.
“It’s a false notion, in fact, but you are just legally bound.”
Arjun Rampal was previously married to Mehr Jesia and from that marriage, he has two daughters, Mahikaa and Myra.
On the film front, the actor is currently enjoying strong box office success with Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar.
The film, in which Arjun plays Major Iqbal, has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in India.
Dhurandhar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Ranveer Singh.
