"you can’t catch me acting. I can’t do it."

Salman Khan downplayed his own acting abilities while addressing audiences at the Red Sea Film Festival 2025, prompting laughter, applause and an affectionate rebuttal from fans during an interaction session.

The Bollywood star admitted he does not consider himself a strong actor and suggested emotional scenes often trigger laughter rather than tears.

Speaking at the festival, Salman said: “Acting has also left this generation. So I don’t think I am a particularly great actor.

“You can catch me doing anything, but you can’t catch me acting. I can’t do it. I simply do what I feel in the moment. That’s all.”

The host invited the audience to respond and they unanimously disagreed with Salman’s self-assessment.

The Dabangg actor then added, “Sometimes when I cry, I know you guys laugh at me.”

A fan quickly responded, “No, we cry with you.”

Salman was also present at the Golden Globes gala dinner held as part of the festival’s wider programme.

He was seen posing with several international stars, including Idris Elba, Edgar Ramirez, Olga Kurylenko and Emad Iskande, highlighting the event’s growing global profile.

On the red carpet, Salman Khan spoke warmly about his experience in Saudi Arabia and his repeated visits to the region.

He said: “I love it here. I like Saudi. A lot of people here like the culture. It’s nice. I keep on visiting this place quite a bit nowadays. So it’s good.”

The actor also shared his excitement over Alia Bhatt being honoured with the Golden Globe Horizon Award at the festival.

Reacting to the recognition, he said: “Yes, Alia Bhatt, it’s amazing! I think only Saudi could’ve done this. It’s amazing.

“They’re going places really rapidly. It’s a good thing. I like it that they bring their best and our culture together.”

Speaking about the honour, Alia said:

“The Golden Globes are an iconic part of the global awards universe. I am happy to be part of it.

“I look forward to continuing my career in telling more stories of powerful and deserving women.”

Alia Bhatt was honoured alongside Tunisian star Hend Sabry, who received the Omar Sharif Award.
