Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his actor son Abhishek Bachchan have been hospitalised after testing positive for Covid-19.
On Saturday, 11 July 2020, the legendary actor, 77, and his son, 44, shared the news with their respective fan followings on Twitter.
Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he was waiting for results following hospitalisation. He said:
“I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests, results awaiting.
“All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!”

Immediately, a host of Indian celebrities took to Twitter to wish Amitabh a speedy recovery.
Actor Dhanush wrote: “Get well soon sir, my sincere prayers for your speedy recovery.”

Following Big B’s announcement, it was revealed his son Abhishek Bachchan has also tested positive for coronavirus while his wife Aishwarya Rai has tested negative.
Taking to Twitter, Abhishek wrote:
“Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19.”
“Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital.
“We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you.”

The father-son duo was taken to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.
According to The Indian Express, a hospital official revealed that Amitabh and Abhishek are in a stable condition.
