"The writing is done. I am starting the shoot."

Renowned director Ram Gopal Varma recently announced that Sarkar 4 is finally happening.

The filmmaker confirmed during a festival that the script for this highly anticipated political drama is now completely finished.

He stated: “The writing is done. I am starting the shoot in mid-2026.”

It is truly impossible to imagine this gritty series without the iconic presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan.

Varma explicitly stated: “Both Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will be a part of the film.”

The original film was released back in 2005 and quickly became a cult classic for its gripping storytelling.

This crime saga followed the life of Subhash Nagre, who was played brilliantly by the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.

The sequel, Sarkar Raj and the later Sarkar 3 continued to explore the intense family dynamics and political power.

Varma shared these exciting updates while attending the opening day of the prestigious Red Lorry Film Festival.

He was present at the event for a special screening of his very famous cult classic film titled Shiva.

While revisiting his older work, the director mentioned that Steven Spielberg influenced his specific visual approach to movie-making.

Regarding the camerawork, he noted: “Certainly, some of the shots in Shiva were inspired by Spielberg’s style of shot taking.”

The director also took some time to reflect on how his film making process has changed over the years.

He surprisingly admitted that he rarely worked with a bound script during the earlier and more successful career phase.

The filmmaker shared a unique perspective, saying: “My films started flopping after I began working with bound scripts.”

He believes that once a director has a bound script, they often start to simply imitate the script itself.

This rigid process leaves very little chance to improve the emotional quotient during the actual filming of the movie.

When asked about modern cinema, he mentioned that he really liked the film Dhurandhar, which was released recently.

Varma still considers Steven Spielberg to be his all-time favourite filmmaker despite the many changes in the industry.

However, he also finds Aditya Dhar to be among the most promising and talented directors of the current generation.

Fans of the franchise have been waiting for a long time to see Subhash Nagre return to the screen.

The announcement has sparked a lot of conversation across social media platforms since the news first broke out.

People are eager to see how the story will evolve in this fourth instalment of the legendary crime series.
