Amir Khan has hinted that he will be heading back into the jungle for the new All-Star series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The 35-year-old recently announced his retirement from boxing and now, he has teased a return to the jungle.

Amir said: “I’ve been asked to do a very, very big show. I can’t give the name to you.

“But I’ll give you a clue; I’ve been on it before!

“I’m not saying nothing. I’ve been asked to go there.

“Look, I think it’ll be brilliant. I think people get to see another side of me and it would be nice to do something like that. Now that I’ve got time I can do it.

“Before I couldn’t do it. The only reason I did it last time was because I had the hand injury.

“I said I’m out of boxing anyway because I can’t train with my hand so I’ll go in the jungle.

“Otherwise, I would probably not have done that.”

Amir was on I’m A Celebrity in 2017 and became a favourite among the viewers.

He screamed at the sight of creepy crawlies and secretly ate the strawberries instead of sharing them with his campmates.

Stating that enjoyed his experience, Amir Khan recalled:

“I enjoyed it. It’s of the best thing I ever did, going in the jungle, being away from everyone, being focused, focusing on you and what you want to do in life.

“I didn’t have other voices telling me what to do.

“I was thinking for myself. I loved it, honestly.

“The team I had around me was amazing. Dennis Wise and Rebekah Vardy and Jamie Lomas. They were all amazing.

“Everyone was great and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had – apart from seeing spiders and snakes and s**t.”

A brand new All-Stars version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is set to be filmed in South Africa and is likely to air during summer 2023.

The stand-alone show will run in addition to the usual annual ITV programme, which is set to return to Australia in 2022 after two years in Wales.

Channel bosses have signed up Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly to host the show and legendary contestants from the past will compete, taking part in trials while living in the camp.

A source said: “The team behind I’m A Celebrity are making a brand new spin-off of the hit series featuring the most loved, favourite campmates from previous years.

“The campmates will be doing trials and living in the camp environment, but with fresh and exciting new twists, and they will have a hand in their own destiny through a series of internal votes and challenges.

“The new edition is likely to air in 2023 but before that viewers will get to enjoy the show’s much-anticipated return to Australia in November.”
