"Sometimes people just don't like you and that's okay."

Romesh Ranganathan has hinted at a secret “feud” with one of his fellow Celebrity Traitors contestants, prompting fans to speculate about which star may have taken a dislike to him.

The comedian has been competing in the iconic castle alongside celebrities including Richard E. Grant, Michael Sheen and Jerry Hall, with tensions rising as contestants attempt to identify the Traitors and avoid being murdered or banished from the game.

However, while the stars have appeared largely harmonious away from the roundtable, Romesh has suggested that not everyone got along behind the scenes.

Speaking on a recent episode of his Wolf and Owl podcast, which he co-hosts with fellow comedian Tom Davies, The Weakest Link host revealed that one celebrity did not like his “general vibe”.

Without revealing the person, he said: “Sometimes people just don’t like you and that’s okay.”

His comments prompted speculation online, where fans began searching for clues to figure out which contestant Romesh was referring to.

Some suggested his social media activity could offer a clue.

One said: “In fairness, James Blunt barely follows anyone but Romesh follows everyone in the cast except 4 people: James B, Julie, Miranda and Richard.”

Another said: “Romesh not following Julie seems weird, especially as they are both part of The Weakest Link cast too, obviously not really doing anything together as Julie records her stuff later in a studio, but still.”

One person suggested Richard E Grant as a possibility:

“What about Richard E Grant like I don’t think they ever really talked.”

Although the online theories remain speculation, Romesh Ranganathan had previously spoken about the possibility that some of his fellow contestants might not warm to him during his time on the BBC reality show.

Reflecting on the prospect on his podcast, he said:

“I think to myself, ‘I love you and the idea that they wouldn’t like you feels really weird to me’.

“But the truth is that there are some people whose personality just rubs people up the wrong way. So sometimes you have to accept that, however you are, it’s not for someone else.

“I think in life we are all guilty of going, ‘I just don’t get it. I’ve been so nice to that person’. But they just don’t vibe with you.”

On Celebrity Traitors, Romesh narrowly avoided being murdered, however, close friend Rob Beckett was the latest contestant to be killed.

Rob’s death was revealed during breakfast the following morning, prompting Romesh to make a joke about his friend’s departure.

He said: “It’s sad but you’ve got to look at the positive of these things, Rob’s not here.”

However, speaking directly to the camera, Romesh admitted that he felt he had let his friend down by failing to protect him from the Traitors.

He said: “I made a joke but the truth is I feel like I let Rob Beckett down because he is so unthreatening he was never going to get banished so he is the guy we should have given the key to and he is also one of my best friends. I’m sad, it’s not going to be the same without him.”
