"I don't think I should have gone."

In the latest episode of The Apprentice, Amina Khan found herself at the receiving end of Lord Alan Sugar’s firing finger.

In the challenge broadcast on February 22, 2024, the candidates were sent off to Jersey, where they were tasked with sourcing nine items for as cheap as possible.

The task aimed to test their negotiation and logistics.

For any incorrect or unsourced items, Lord Sugar imposed both teams with a fine, as well as a fine for being late to the finishing location.

Amina Khan was in Team Supreme, which had lost all the previous tasks. She had put herself forward to be Project Manager, but Jack Davies won the position.

Although she was not Project Manager, she was appointed as leader of the sub-team, which also included Onyeka Nweze and Phil Turner.

Amina’s sub-team was placed in charge of buying a sea salt glass jar, jersey wonders, a jersey jumper and a bachin dish bowl.

However, the problem was that she did not know what the items were.

The Ilford-based pharmacist took her sub-team to various locations but the logistics proved to be an obstacle.

At one point, the team were in the market, and as pointed out by Karren Brady, they walked straight past several of the items they were asked to source.

The team also rerouted in order to find another item while they were on their way to purchase the bachin.

Amina, Phil and Onyeka were also 15 minutes late to their finishing location, which also cost them a fine.

In the boardroom, Team Supreme lost the task. Their total spend was £669.50 – over £200 more than their rival team.

A disappointed Lord Sugar said: “It’s got to be one of the worst results in this task.”

Although Jack brought Amina Khan back as one of the bottom three, Lord Sugar brought the entire team back into the final boardroom.

This was because he believed that all of the losing candidates had contributed to the failure of the challenge.

However, ultimately, Amina was fired due to her poor management of the sub-team and her weak logistics.

Surprisingly, Amina was not the only contestant to exit the show.

Project Manager Jack was also fired for his bad leadership and failure to implement a suitable strategy within the team.

After being fired, Amina said: “Everyone in that room was at fault.

“Everyone was hiding behind the curtains, dodging the bullet and in actual fact, anyone in that room was so close to being fired.”

Off-screen, Amina called her firing “unfair”.

She said: “I don’t think I should have gone. I think Lord Sugar didn’t give me a chance to showcase my business acumen.

“I have the most profitable business in the show and even amongst all the winners [of The Apprentice], I have the most successful business and Lord Sugar didn’t give me a chance to showcase my skills.

“Anyone could have have been fired and I don’t think it should have been me – it was unfair.”

She stated that since filming of The Apprentice finished, she has maintained amicable relationships with her fellow candidates:

“We’re all very good friends.

“These women on the show are all business-minded women and where I come from, with my background, we don’t have women that are so career-orientated and I absolutely love them all.”

Before the show aired, Amina Khan had stated: “I am one of the hardest working women I know. There is no one else like me.”
