Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter, Aaradhya have been taken to hospital after developing breathlessness.
The mother and daughter were both in self-quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19 shortly after Amitabh Bachchan and son, Abhishek contracted the virus.
According to PTI sources, Aishwarya and Aaradhya were admitted to Nanavati Hospital on Friday, 17 July 2020. The source said:
“Both Aishwarya and Aaradhya were admitted to Nanavati Hospital today. They are fine. Aishwarya needed medical attention.”
Recently, her husband Abhishek and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan were admitted to the same hospital.
The father and son duo caught the coronavirus on Saturday, 10 July 2020.
On 12 July 2020, Abhishek Bachchan shared the news of his wife and daughter on Twitter. He wrote:
“Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self-quarantining at home.
“The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful.
“The rest of the family including my mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers.”
Abhishek also confirmed that he will be staying in hospital alongside his father “until the doctors decide otherwise.”
In his previous tweet, Abhishek wrote:
“Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital.
“We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you.”

His tweet followed from his father, Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet which read:
“I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests, results awaited.
“All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please themselves tested!”

According to a hospital insider who spoke to PTI on 13 July 2020, he said:
“Amitabh and Abhishek are in the [isolation] ward and are clinically stable. At present, they do not require aggressive treatment.
“They are okay with the first line of medication. They are being given supportive therapy. Their vitals and appetite are fine.”
Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan, who initially tested negative for the virus will be tested again. The Bachchan’s staff members have also tested negative for Covid-19.
Currently, the Bachchan family is going through a testing time. Their well-wishers have been sending their love and prayers online.
