Rosacea Skin Condition
As stated by the NHS:
“The exact cause of Rosacea is unknown, although a number of possible factors have been suggested, including abnormalities in the blood vessels of the face and a reaction to microscopic mites commonly found on the face.”
Accordingly, the NHS identifies various causes that may irritate Rosacea:
- Heat exposure
- Temperature changes
- Spicy food
- Exhausting exercise
- Hot drinks, caffeine and alcohol
Furthermore, there is a common misconception within Asian culture that Desi skin is similar to Western skin. So, Asians tend to resort to Western products, which may cause a reaction.
Dr Kiran Loha, an American Dermatologist, has stated that such conditions are effectively different between Western and Asian skins. Primarily, due to environmental factors.
Therefore, it’s highly important to be careful with cleansers, toners and moisturisers. It is essential to check the ingredients, and avoid using products which contain skin harming elements. Such as, fragrance and alcohol.
A study funded by the Natural Rosacea Society, suggests that Rosacea is more prevalent in hot countries. As a consequence, its effects are therefore heightened by extreme sunlight and heat.
Although it is more commonly diagnosed in individuals with fair complexions, Rosacea also appears in people of darker skin colour. Especially those from multiple ethnic groups.
Even though NHS has suggested that, creams and oral medications can help control Rosacea. DESIblitz brings leading and excellent natural face masks instead, to target those of Desi roots.
