"Get ready for a rollercoaster ride"
Yumna Zaidi is set to make her film debut in Nayab, which is about a young woman’s passion for cricket.
Yumna will play Nayab, a woman from Karachi who is passionate about the sport but is unable to fully immerse herself in the game due to the lack of opportunities.
Unveiling the poster, Yumna wrote:
“Enter Nayab’s world with our first official poster, as we run into excitement like our fearless protagonist!
“Join the sprint towards dreams, where chaos meets ambition. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of resilience, joy, and drama!”
Following the reveal, fans congratulated Yumna on her debut film.

When she was shown the Nayab script, she was so taken by the story that she could not refuse.
Yumna said: “It is a brilliant story and it is meaningful. The whole team is trying their best to execute it the way it should be.
“Now that we have chosen good content, we want to do justice to it so that the audience also enjoys it when they go to the cinema.”
Yumna went on to say that despite not watching cricket, she immersed herself in the role of a woman who was passionate about the sport.
“When you are trying to perfect an accent for a role, or representing a tribe in a drama, you have to work very hard to avoid stereotyping them.
“It’s the same with this role. All of my attention and focus has been here. I want to do justice to this character, to this girl who worships cricket.
“Nayab is a daring girl who knows no bounds when it comes to her passion. There are rivalries in the film.
“One thing I know for sure is that people will not only enjoy it but also relate with my character.”
Nayab also stars the likes of Javed Sheikh, Ehteshamuddin, Usama Khan, Huma Nawab, Noreen Gulwani and Hani Taha.
The script has been co-written by Ali Abbas Naqvi and Basit Naqvi and has been directed by Umair Nasir Ali.
Reportedly, the film will be released in cinemas on December 10, 2023.
