“I was feeling frustrated; that’s why I spoke."
In a candid interview with Shaista Lodhi, Yasir Nawaz revisited his controversial remarks about co-star Alizeh Shah, admitting he had made a mistake.
Yasir had previously expressed his difficulty working with Alizeh.
Reflecting on the incident, Yasir regretted publicly naming her during a challenging time on set.
He explained: “I was wrong; it was my mistake. I should have kept quiet at that time. We were doing a serial together.
“She had some issues with the producer, and my work was being affected due to their clashes; I was suffering because of her fights.
“I was feeling frustrated; that’s why I spoke. I should have kept the name hidden; I don’t know why it even happened. I regret that statement.”
Yasir’s earlier statement, in which he shared his dissatisfaction with the acting experience in the same project, resurfaced.
He had said: “Acting disturbed me a little. There were a lot of reasons. I just didn’t enjoy it.
“I always regretted getting into acting; it was that bad.”
Adding context, Yasir’s wife, Nida, shared her perspective on his challenges:
“As an actor, Yasir had some difficulty working with Alizeh Shah. There wasn’t enough chemistry, even though Yasir gets along well with everyone.
“But, as a director, no one has ever bothered him.”
Nida also emphasised the importance of carefully choosing co-stars, noting:
“You have to be careful who you work with. You need to look into who you are going to be cast with.”
In response, Alizeh Shah addressed the claims:
“Everyone connects differently. Just like in families, we don’t always get along. On sets, it’s similar.
“If someone misbehaves with me, I will respond. I won’t stay quiet.”
The controversy has reignited past allegations surrounding Alizeh’s behaviour on set.
One such incident involved her reportedly clashing with Humayun Saeed during the production of Mera Dil Mera Dushman over punctuality.
Naveed Raza shared the story on Time Out with Ahsan Khan, alleging Alizeh’s unprofessional conduct with the producer.
Additionally, there was a highly publicised altercation between Alizeh and fellow actress Minsa Malik during a drama shoot.
Minsa accused Alizeh of physical assault, claiming she was under the influence of drugs during the incident.
According to the FIR filed by Minsa, Alizeh threw a sandal at her and caused a scene, which was partially captured on camera.
Sami Khan, a witness, shared his account without naming individuals.
He described how one actress stormed into the room, followed by a sandal being thrown, escalating into a full-blown confrontation.
This series of incidents has led many netizens to call out a recurring pattern in Alizeh’s behaviour.
Some have suggested she might need professional help, while others have expressed disappointment over her alleged unprofessionalism.
Yasir Nawaz’s comments have inadvertently brought these controversies back into the spotlight, sparking renewed discussions about conduct.
