"Trust me, it will not reflect well on your image."
Pakistani actor Alizeh Shah has issued a public warning to director and producer Yasir Nawaz, threatening legal action over repeated defamatory remarks.
The warning came through an Instagram story, where the actor expressed frustration at being mentioned despite their professional association ending years ago.
Shah stated that it has been five years since she worked with Nawaz on the television drama Mera Dil Mera Dushman.
Despite the time gap, she claimed the director continues referencing her name across interviews, talk shows and public discussions.
According to Shah, Nawaz’s comments have alternated between partial apologies and statements describing the collaboration as unpleasant.
She said this inconsistency has caused personal distress and professional discomfort, especially since the matter resurfaced repeatedly without resolution.
Calling it her final warning, Shah asked Nawaz to stop using her name in any future public or media appearances.
She made it clear that any further mention would prompt immediate legal action in the form of a defamation lawsuit.
In her statement, Shah stressed that criticism of a past colleague does not justify repeatedly dragging their name publicly.
She said: “This does not give him the right to repeatedly drag my name for the past five years.”
Shah also revealed that she has preserved recordings and documented material from every show where her name was referenced.
These records, she said, would be used to support her case should the dispute escalate legally.
The actor further warned that continued behaviour would compel her to reveal reasons behind the strained working relationship.
She added that such disclosures, if made public, would not cast the director in a favourable light. Shah warned:
“I will disclose to the entire industry the real reasons why he did not like working with me.”
“Trust me, it will not reflect well on your image.”
The controversy traces back to interviews where Nawaz discussed difficulties he claimed to have faced during their collaboration.
His remarks had sparked online debate, with viewers revisiting the drama and speculating about behind-the-scenes tensions.
During that period, Nawaz’s wife and television host Nida Yasir publicly defended him.
She stated that the issue stemmed from a lack of professional chemistry rather than any deeper conflict.
Shah, however, maintained that these explanations failed to justify the repeated public commentary about her.
She emphasised that professional disagreements should remain private, especially once projects conclude and time has passed.
Alizeh Shah reiterated that her intention was not escalation, but rather an end to what she described as prolonged public targeting.
