Bollywood Boyz made their debut on WWE SmackDown Live.
The wrestling duo Bollywood Boyz have now changed their name after their debut on the WWE main roster. Gurv and Harv Sihra have changed their tag team name to “The Singh Brothers” on Facebook.
Yet on Twitter, their handle still refers to their original title.
Even commentators on the show referred to them as their previous name, but it seems the change is an ongoing process.
The Bollywood Boyz made their debut on WWE SmackDown Live on 18th April 2017.
Their appearance marked the possible formation of a new group with wrestler Jinder Mahal, as they helped him win a 6-Pack Challenge.
However, it’s believed the group will act as a heel stable, as the duo distracted Mahal’s opponent, Sami Zayn, by grabbing his legs during the match. The distraction led to Mahal’s win, which means he earned the No.1 contender spot for the WWE championship.
The duo, once known as Bollywood Boyz, are real-life brothers who hail from British Columbia. Reports say that the brothers have been wrestling around the Canadian circuit since 2006, and eventually followed the paths of other WWE superstars.
Their WWE careers began during a show in Portland, where Gurv and Harv Sihra met wrestling legend Triple H.
He reportedly seemed pleased with their skill and supposedly told them to “keep on doing their thing”.
Therefore, the brothers remained determined to enter onto WWE’s famous ring. Harv even pursued acting in Bollywood itself and landed some impressive roles, such as working with Akshay Kumar in Brothers.
When they eventually got accepted into WWE, Gurv and Harv first appeared as extras on SmackDown. Soon after, the duo made their first ever debut in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament in June 2006.
And now with their debut on the grandest stage of all, rumours claim that the Bollywood Boyz will work with Jinder Mahal in upcoming weeks.
DESIblitz wishes the newly-named Singh Brothers the best of luck in their WWE careers!
