Congratulations are in order for Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan, as he becomes engaged to actress Sagarika Ghatge.
The joyful news confirms the months of rumours and speculation that the two were in a relationship.
The happy couple posted a picture on their respective social media, with Sagarika showing off a beautiful diamond ring.
With the ring placed on her wedding finger, fans knew immediately that the couple had got engaged.
On Twitter, Zaheer captioned his picture as: “Never laugh at your wife’s choices. You are one of them. Partners for life!!!”
Meanwhile, Sagarika posted the picture with a simple caption of “Engaged.”
Since the news, she has posted another picture of herself and now-fiance Zaheer Khan. Standing by the sea, with the diamond ring on her finger.

News of the engagement between the Indian cricketer and the Chak De! India actress will be welcomed by fans. However, it won’t act as a surprising news. Rumours of something developing between the two had persisted for months.
And the couple didn’t make their relationship exactly quiet.
Rumours first began when they appeared together at the wedding of Zaheer’s teammate, Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech in 2016. Holding hands and acting cosy with one another, no wonder speculation became rife.
Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge then also appeared together to celebrate each other’s birthdays with photos showing them acting as a couple. This only deepened the rumours.
Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj added more fuel to the fire with their banter directed to Zaheer Khan.
After cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s wedding, Rohit Sharma tweeted:
“Brotherman down! Best wishes to my older brother @YUVSTRONG12! All eyes on @ImZaheer now?”
Yuvraj himself joined in by tweeting to Sagarika: “All the best Sagarika Ghatge for tonight remember you from the days when you dated a Vice-captain of the Indian team good choice not do it in real life.”
This acts as a reference to Sagarika’s film Chak De! India. The actress played a character who dated the vice-captain of an Indian cricket team in the film.
The couple has also been very supportive of each other’s careers. While Zaheer attended the premiere of Saragika’s film Irada, the actress herself has also appeared at some of the cricketer’s games, supporting him and his team.
While some fans will appear unsurprised at the engagement news, they will no doubt congratulate the happy couple.
Now, the rumour mill will surely speculate heavily on their eventual wedding!
