"That was a great learning process."

Trupti Khamkar discussed the challenges she faced while filming her scenes in Crew (2024).

Starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, the film is a heist movie based on three air hostesses.

In the film, Trupti played SI Mala.

The actress revealed that her portions in Crew would only be filmed when the leading performers wrapped up for the day.

As a result, she would only be given 30 minutes to finish 12 hours worth of work.

Trupti explained: “When you are working with a star cast, it is obvious that first their work will be done, and they will go home.

“Then your work will start. So many times, it used to happen that in a 12-hour shift, all the cameras were on them.

“I was standing there, memorising my lines, and then they would leave.

“Then there would be the last half-hour of the shift left, and I was told, ‘Trupti, how much work has been done today for the film, do it in half an hour’.

“Then I was like, ‘Alright, I’ll do it’.”

Adding that she valued the learning process, Trupti continued:

“I think that was a great learning process. I have a Master’s degree in theatre, but that learning won’t help.

“The training you receive on set is different. You have to keep an eye all the time on which scenes you are in throughout the entire day.

“People won’t give you lines.

“You have to see how the other people delivered their lines and then decide how you have to reply to them in the same way.

“After Crew, I feel like I can work on any challenging set because I have been trained through this film for it.”

The film also starred Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in key roles.

Kriti Sanon recently addressed the possibility of a sequel to the film.

She said: “People have been loving it. We would genuinely love to be back and do something fun.”

“When they love something so much, you feel you can definitely do something next. So, hope so.”

“It’s nice to see the response to the content. Then, it doesn’t matter if it’s a man or a woman.

“It’s just the content that was loved, something which the cinema should actually aim for.”

Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, Crew was released on March 29, 2024.

It has currently earned over Rs 112 crores (£10 million) at the box office.
