"Won’t be doing that again will he."

Shocking footage captured the moment one fan’s T20 World Cup celebrations went horribly wrong.

In Barbados, India defeated South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final, ending their 13-year wait for a world title.

Across the world, people of Indian heritage were celebrating the long overdue triumph.

This was also the case in London, however, it did not end well for one fan.

Dozens of people were gathered outside Queensbury Underground Station to see a group of young men and even children standing on top of the train station sign.

Eyewitness footage showed two men climbing the pole, with one attempting to tie an Indian flag at the top.

As the man slowly tries to climb to the top, the other acts as a support below.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses cheer him on and music plays in the background.

At one point, one person is heard saying: “Go on Rambo.”

But their cheers turn to screams of horror as the man loses his grip and falls from the pole, hitting his back off the circular platform before ending up on the ground.

Despite being left with cuts and bruises on his face, the man was able to walk.

On social media, one said: “Bunch of idiots endangering their own lives.”

Another commented: “Won’t be doing that again will he.”

The man was later taken to hospital.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7:36 pm on Saturday 29 June to reports of an incident on Queensbury Station Parade.

“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Elsewhere, a man was detained by police in Ealing Road but it was not known why.

After India’s triumph, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their T20I retirements.

Kohli said: “This was my last T20 World Cup. It is time for the new generation to come through for India now.

“We have some amazing players coming through and they have to take this team forward now.”

In his post-match press conference, Sharma revealed:

“This was my last game as well.

“There’s no better time to say goodbye to this format. I’ve loved every moment of this.

“I started my India career in T20 and this is what I wanted to do. I wanted to win the cup and say goodbye.”
