In a shocking incident caught on camera, an Indian woman was robbed of her gold necklace whilst filming a reel for social media.

The robbery is said to have happened in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Taking place on the side of the road, a woman is dressed in a gold and green ensemble and arranges her outfit.

Meanwhile, her cameraman stands on the opposite side of the street and instructs her to start walking.

The unnamed woman walks towards the camera while her assistant slowly moves back.

Things appear normal but soon take a turn when a man on a motorbike rides into the shot.

The woman looks confused as the motorcyclist rides towards her. However, he then reaches out and grabs the necklace she is wearing.

After snatching the necklace, he rides off while the Indian woman screams at him.

Locals in the area witnessed the robber and the woman goes over to explain to them what happened.

On social media, viewers had a mixed reaction.

Many expressed shock at what transpired, with one urging:

“Stay safe out there. Let’s hope the police swiftly catch the culprit.”

Netizens pointed out that the motorbike’s registration plate is clearly visible, which should make it easier to locate and arrest the suspect.

One user said: “The bike’s registration number is clear to identify criminal.”

Another commented: “I think the number of the bike is clearly visible.”

A third added: “The chain snatcher will be caught quickly and will receive the maximum punishment, which will serve as a deterrent to others.”

One person even went as far as to find details about the suspect.

After inputting the registration plate, the motorbike was identified as a Yamaha FZS and the suspect’s name was partially revealed.

However, others were less sympathetic towards the Indian woman.

A user wrote: “This should happen with all reelers.”

Another claimed the robbery would make the woman more popular, writing:

“She will get more views and likes.”

Hitting out at both the thief and the woman, a comment read:

“Both of them are nuisances. Both of them need to be thrown in prison.”

Some even wondered if the robbery was staged to garner attention.

One user thought: “What if it’s a scripted video for views.”

Another stated: “This seems pre-planned, these people can do anything.”

A third wrote: “This may have been done deliberately with the intention of making the reel viral.”

Ghaziabad Police later said they have taken notice of the matter and are looking into it.
