Coming in at Number 10 is Pav Dharia’s excellently produced ‘Na Ja’ which came out in February 2017. The track was an instant hit, and as of December 2017, has over 133 million views on YouTube.

Simran Jandu is the beautiful model who appears in Aman Hayer’s ‘Chaska Duet 2’, as well as ‘Lovers Medley 3’ by Asif Khan and Naseebo Lal.

9. Jasmine Sandlas ft. Garry Sandhu – Illegal Weapon

Continuing with more seriously catchy bhangra songs of 2017 is ‘Illegal Weapon’ by Jasmine Sandlas and Garry Sandhu.

The track features an irresistible beat behind the wonderful vocals of Sandlas and Sandhu.

Ripon says: “Jasmine Sandlas’ voice is amazing, and I love every song she features in. I really like ‘Illegal Weapon’ with Garry Sandhu because the beat is so unique and catchy.”

2017 has been huge for both Garry Sandhu and Jasmine Sandlas with the pair twice coming together with incredible results. After first combining to bring us ‘Laddu’, they then brought us ‘Illegal Weapon’ in September.

In the three months since its release, ‘Illegal Weapon’ has over 45 million YouTube views. And you can see why here:

8. Rajvir Jawanda – Kangani

Despite releasing in February 2017, Rajvir Jawanda’s ‘Kangani’ only has around 15 million views. But with 63% of our DESIblitz readers voting for the track to make the Top 10 Bhangra Songs of 2017, it does.

Following the successful release of ‘Surname’ in 2016, Rajvir Jawanda won the ‘Best New Male Artist’ prize at the 2017 PTC Punjabi Music Awards. And with ‘Kangani’, Jawanda could be on his way to more awards in 2018 and beyond.

Nav says: “’Kangani’ will never get old. I can play it over and over again and always feel like dancing. Rajvir Jawanda sings the song so well and the lyrics are just perfect.”

Simran, meanwhile, adds: “It’s such a sweet and great song which makes you want to dance along.” So if you feel like dancing, check out the beautiful ‘Kangani’ by Rajvir Jawanda and MixSingh, here:

7. Sunanda Sharma – Jaani Tera Naa

‘Jaani Tera Naa’ by Sunanda Sharma is Number 7 on our list of the Top 10 Bhangra Songs of 2017.

Sharma follows up her 2016 success with ‘Billi Akh’ and the award-winning ‘Patake’ in her latest track which came out in September 2017.

Speaking to DESIblitz about the track, Kiran says: “It is personally one of my favourite bhangra songs of 2017. With its catchy lyrics, I can listen to ‘Jaani Tera Naa’ so many times on repeat and not stop singing along.”

6. Mankirt Aulakh ft Deep Kahlon – Gangland

Another artist having an incredible year is Mankirt Aulakh. His latest tracks such as ‘Badnam’, ‘Daang’, and ‘Suit’ follow up his 2016 success with ‘Kadar’.

But beating his other hit songs to our DESIblitz Top 10, thanks to 74% of your votes, is ‘Gangland’. About the track, Monica says:

“‘Gangland’ is exactly what modern Punjabi music is about. There isn’t a party or wedding where this isn’t played because it appeals to such a wide audience. The beat is refreshingly original and there’s nothing to not like about it.”

Since its release in the summer of 2017, the track has become a Punjabi anthem, with nearly 70 million views.

5. Diljit Dosanjh ft. Tru-Skool – El Sueno

Five years after their incredible Back to Basics album, Diljit Dosanjh and Tru-Skool reunite in 2017 for ‘El Sueno’.

Diljit sensationally combines Spanish and Punjabi cultures in a way in which only he can pull off. Karam says: “Diljit Dosanjh has brought Spanish elegance together with upbeat Pubjabi music to create one of the best bhangra songs of 2017.”

Upon its release in October, ‘El Sueno’ went straight to number one on iTunes India. And now, with a sleek and stylish music video, and intriguing storyline, the track has nearly 30 million views.

4. Amrit Maan ft. Jasmine Sandlas – Bamb Jatt

Jasmine Sandlas and DJ Flow appear in another one of our DESIblitz Top 10 Bhangra Songs of 2017. But this time they are alongside Amrit Maan in the massive hit, ‘Bamb Jatt’.

About the track, Nina says: “The voices of Amrit Maan and Jasmine Sandlas go so well together in ‘Bamb Jatt’. It’s definitely one of the best bhangra songs of 2017.”

While the powerful vocals are simply astonishing, DJ Flow really helps the track come alive with the backing beat.

3. Guru Randhawa – High Rated Gabru

It’s been nothing short of a sensational year for Guru Randhawa.

Few would have thought he could better his 2016 hit with Arjun, ‘Suit’, which has 140 million views. But since the release of ‘High Rated Gabru’ in July 2017, the track now has over 220 million views.

Speaking exclusively to DESIblitz about the song, Kavi says: “It’s another catchy song by Guru Randhawa, he’s an artist I really like. I’ve been enjoying listening to ‘High Rated Gabru’ since its release a while ago and I still love it!”

After penning his own lyrics for the track, Guru Randhawa is the singer-songwriter of ‘High Rated Gabru’. Manj Musik, the father of 11-year-old music prodigy, Noopsta, joins Randhawa for the music.

2. Kulwinder Billa ft. Dr Zeus, Shipra Goyal & Wamiqa Gabbi – Angreji Wali Madam

Narrowly missing out on the top spot in our 10 Best Bhangra Songs of 2017 is ‘Angreji Wali Madam’.

Kulwinder Billa, Dr Zeus, Shipra Goyal and Wamiqa Gabbi combine to produce a true Punjabi hit. The vocals fit perfectly with music by Zeus, who recently worked with Snoop Dogg in ‘Woofer’.

Kiran says: “’Angreji Wali Madam’ is one of the best bhangra duets we’ve had in 2017. It’s a fun, light-hearted song which is a hit at parties thanks to its good beat.”

Somehow, this wonderfully upbeat track only has just under 30 million views since its release in January. But you can add to that by checking it out here:

1. Sharry Mann – Hostel

Partly thanks to 83% of your votes, and partly down to the fact that it is unquestionably the best Punjabi bhangra song of the year, ‘Hostel’ takes the top spot.

This sensational hit by Sharry Mann is arguably his best ever track alongside ‘3 Peg’ and ‘Yaar Anmulle’. Speaking about ‘Hostel’, Harsimran says:

“I love ‘Hostel’ which is definitely up there with Sharry Mann’s best songs. It can be played anywhere from parties to gyms and I even used to do bhangra fitness to it! With such a good beat ‘Hostel’ can be enjoyed by absolutely anyone and everyone!”

Its release in May 2017 meant that ‘Hostel’ immediately became the Punjabi bhangra anthem of the year. And that’s why the track tops our Best Bhangra Songs of 2017 list.

More of the Best Bhangra Songs of 2017

A number of wonderful Punjabi music releases narrowly missed out on a place in our DESIblitz Top 10 Bhangra Songs of 2017.

But it was your votes on our official DESIblitz Instagram which helped us narrow down so much incredible music. And if you want to make your opinion count, then follow us on there by following the link above.

If you’re unhappy with any of these amazing songs not making our final list, worry no more. Below is a DESIblitz playlist which allows you to listen to each of these incredible tracks back-to-back. So keep your volume turned up high and check them out.

Only missing out on our Top 10 because of its release date in late 2016 was Sharry Mann’s ‘3 Peg’.

Despite an astonishing 92 million YouTube views, your votes meant Mankirt Aulakh’s ‘Badnam’ didn’t make our Top 10 either.

Also unfortunate to miss out on our list is ‘Laddu’ by Garry Sandhu and Jasmine Sandlas. Aulakh, Sandhu, and Sandlas, nevertheless, at least all made our Top 10 with their other brilliant songs – ‘Gangland’ and ‘Illegal Weapon’ respectively.

Your votes also denied places for Jazzy B’s ‘Bamb Gaana’ and JK’s ‘Pomp Pomp Tha Music’. B Jay Randhawa and G. Sidhu also narrowly missed out with their tracks, ‘Peg’ and ‘Candle Light’, respectively.

Speaking exclusively to DESIblitz about G. Sidhu’s ‘Candle Light’, Pawan says:

“Despite not having many views, this song deserves recognition. ‘Candle Light’ brings a good vibe to the party and never fails to have people up and dancing. This is a great bhangra song which you just can’t get sick of.”

If 2017 is anything to go by, 2018 should be yet another simply sensation year of Punjabi bhangra music.
