2. Kulwinder Billa ft. Dr Zeus, Shipra Goyal & Wamiqa Gabbi – Angreji Wali Madam

Narrowly missing out on the top spot in our 10 Best Bhangra Songs of 2017 is ‘Angreji Wali Madam’.

Kulwinder Billa, Dr Zeus, Shipra Goyal and Wamiqa Gabbi combine to produce a true Punjabi hit. The vocals fit perfectly with music by Zeus, who recently worked with Snoop Dogg in ‘Woofer’.

Kiran says: “’Angreji Wali Madam’ is one of the best bhangra duets we’ve had in 2017. It’s a fun, light-hearted song which is a hit at parties thanks to its good beat.”

Somehow, this wonderfully upbeat track only has just under 30 million views since its release in January. But you can add to that by checking it out here:

1. Sharry Mann – Hostel

Partly thanks to 83% of your votes, and partly down to the fact that it is unquestionably the best Punjabi bhangra song of the year, ‘Hostel’ takes the top spot.

This sensational hit by Sharry Mann is arguably his best ever track alongside ‘3 Peg’ and ‘Yaar Anmulle’. Speaking about ‘Hostel’, Harsimran says:

“I love ‘Hostel’ which is definitely up there with Sharry Mann’s best songs. It can be played anywhere from parties to gyms and I even used to do bhangra fitness to it! With such a good beat ‘Hostel’ can be enjoyed by absolutely anyone and everyone!”

Its release in May 2017 meant that ‘Hostel’ immediately became the Punjabi bhangra anthem of the year. And that’s why the track tops our Best Bhangra Songs of 2017 list.

Only missing out on our Top 10 because of its release date in late 2016 was Sharry Mann’s ‘3 Peg’.

Despite an astonishing 92 million YouTube views, your votes meant Mankirt Aulakh’s ‘Badnam’ didn’t make our Top 10 either.

Also unfortunate to miss out on our list is ‘Laddu’ by Garry Sandhu and Jasmine Sandlas. Aulakh, Sandhu, and Sandlas, nevertheless, at least all made our Top 10 with their other brilliant songs – ‘Gangland’ and ‘Illegal Weapon’ respectively.

Your votes also denied places for Jazzy B’s ‘Bamb Gaana’ and JK’s ‘Pomp Pomp Tha Music’. B Jay Randhawa and G. Sidhu also narrowly missed out with their tracks, ‘Peg’ and ‘Candle Light’, respectively.

Speaking exclusively to DESIblitz about G. Sidhu’s ‘Candle Light’, Pawan says:

“Despite not having many views, this song deserves recognition. ‘Candle Light’ brings a good vibe to the party and never fails to have people up and dancing. This is a great bhangra song which you just can’t get sick of.”

If 2017 is anything to go by, 2018 should be yet another simply sensation year of Punjabi bhangra music.
