The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2022 was held on March 10, 2023, at the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata, celebrating artistic and technical excellence in Bangla cinema.

It was the sixth edition of the awards event and Joy Personal Care was the title partner.

The grand celebration saw the dazzling trio of Ankush Hazra, Anirban Bhattacharya and Srabanti Chatterjee hosting.

It celebrated the best of Bengali cinema, recognising films released between January and December 2022.

As always, the night was a star-studded affair, with the likes of Aparna Sen, Sourav Das and Subhashree Ganguly.

The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla presented an eye-catching performance by Ankush Hazra.

Nusrat Jahan, Monami Ghosh and Srabanti Chatterjee also gave excellent performances.

The event also saw a comic act by the scintillating duo, Biswanath Basu and Ambarish Bhattacharya.

Audiences were thrilled when Ballabhpurer Roopkatha and Dostojee both won ‘Best Film’.

Mithun Chakraborty won ‘Best Actor (Male)’ for his performance in Projapati, while Swastika Mukherjee received the award for Best Actor (Female) for her role in Shrimati.

Anindya Sengupta won ‘Best Debut (Male)’ for X Equals to Prem. On winning the award, he said:

“Since this is my first black lady and also an unexpected one I would dedicate this award to the hard work and struggles I have done throughout my life.

“So this is dedicated to my life.”

The event also saw Aparna Sen winning the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
