"I haven’t seen my mother feeling so devastated."

Ranbir Kapoor recently revealed that he has lied the most to his mother Neetu Kapoor in his life.

He also recalled being caught by her after smoking his first cigarette.

He said that he begged her for forgiveness at that time, and his parents eventually gave up on his smoking habit.

During the promotion of the film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir was asked to name the one person to whom he has lied the most.

To this, Ranbir told RJ Siddharth Kannan: “I’ve lied to my mother the most.

“I used to get smacked a lot, I was very naughty. I’m a changed man now.”

He was then asked what lie got him into trouble.

Ranbir then said: “When I first smoked a cigarette, my mother found out…

“It was a very dark time in my life. It was a dark moment, I haven’t seen my mother feeling so devastated.

“She thought I was doing heroin… of course, you feel bad.

“I apologised profusely, and I begged for forgiveness. But eventually, I guess, parents also give up.”

Ranbir’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar features him opposite Shraddha Kapoor for the first time.

The romantic comedy is directed by Luv Ranjan and was released on March 8.

During the promotions, Ranbir Kapoor also spoke about his little daughter Raha.

He revealed the first gift that he gave his daughter Raha was a tiny Nike sneaker.

He also gave her a tiny Barcelona jersey with Raha’s name and the number 8 on it.

The actor also revealed that he was the first person to click Raha’s picture since Alia Bhatt was not in the condition.

Ranbir Kapoor also went ahead to call her his inspiration.

Further, in a recent interview, the Brahmastra actor talked about the #BoycottBollywood trend and said that this has only started recently and not everyone is part of the baseless trolling and negativity.

He said: “I don’t think everybody does it. But I have been seeing this for a couple of years that suddenly there’s an anti-Bollywood narrative has started post the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir will be next seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming Animal.

The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna.

Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol also appear in pivotal roles.

Animal is set to be released later this year.
