"No one better than POO."

Alia Bhatt has recreated an iconic ‘Poo’ scene from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary.

The Bollywood actress reenacted Kareena Kapoor Khan’s performance as Pooja in the cult classic, popularly shortened to K3G.

In the minute and a half video, she is seen rating a series of potential prom dates, including Ibrahim Ali Khan and Ranveer Singh.

Sharing the clip with her 57.3 million Instagram followers, Bhatt wrote:

“My favourite scene and my favourite people.

“Congratulations to the entire team of K3G on completing 20 years.

“P.S. – love you bebooooooo my eternal favourite.”

Various celebrities, including Bipasha Basu, Ishaan Khatter, and Diana Penty took to the comments to share their amusement.

Ranveer Singh himself, who had taken on the role of Hrithik Roshan, said he was “dead!”

His actress wife, Deepika Padukone, replied with a series of crying laughing emojis.

The original Poo herself, Kareena Kapoor Khan, reposted the clip on her own Instagram profile and wrote in the caption:

“No one better than POO.

“Only of course the bestest actor of our times… my darling Alia. HALLELUJAAAAH.”

Bhatt is believed to have filmed the video on the set of her upcoming movie, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (2023).

Like K3G, it is also being directed by Karan Johar and will see Ranveer Singh star opposite the 28-year-old actress.

The pair previously worked together in Gully Boy (2019), directed by Zoya Akhtar, which received critical acclaim.

Preity Zinta, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi are also due to appear in supporting roles in the film.

Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, is an assistant director on the project.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham had emerged as a major commercial success in both India and abroad when it was first released.

It became the highest-grossing Indian film ever at the time, achieving a lifetime gross of Rs. 1.36 billion (£13 million).

This is despite receiving mixed reviews from critics who praised most of the film but were unhappy with the script and three and a half-hour run time.

Bhatt has a busy year ahead with at least eight projects announced, including Telugu action film RRR (2022), scheduled to be released on January 7, 2022.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Sadak 2 (2021), which was directed by her father, Mahesh Bhatt.
