The winners of the 68th edition of the Filmfare Awards South have been unveiled.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the award ceremony for the films released between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022, were not held in 2023.
But to honour the talents who shone in the year gone by, Filmfare announced the winners digitally.
For Telugu cinema, RRR won the award for ‘Best Film Telugu’.
Both Jr NTR and Ram Charan won ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male)’ for their performances in SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster.
Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur won ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female)’ for her outstanding performance in the Telugu film Sita Ramam.
SS Rajamouli also received ‘Best Director’.
In a monumental victory for Tamil cinema, Ponniyin Selvan: I won ‘Best Film’ while director Mani Ratnam bagged ‘Best Director’.
When it comes to Malayalam cinema, Darshana Rajendran was recognised as ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey.
As for Kannada cinema, Kiranraj K was awarded ‘Best Director’ for the critically acclaimed 777 Charlie.
