"Thank you IIFA for this lifetime memory."
The International Indian Film Academy Awards, also known as the IIFA Awards, were first held in 2000, and continue to honour Bollywood’s best work.
The 25th IIFA ceremony was held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre on March 8 and 9, 2025.
Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan hosted the IIFA Awards as Bollywood’s biggest stars gathered to celebrate the best Hindi films released in 2024.
Performances on the night included a dazzling display by Kareena Kapoor Khan who paid tribute to her grandfather Raj Kapoor.
2024 marked Raj Kapoor’s birth centenary year.
Shah Rukh Khan also performed with gusto onstage.
Meanwhile, Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies dominated the 2025 IIFA Awards, with the film picking up ten trophies.
These included ‘Best Director’ for Kiran and ‘Best Actress’ for Nitanshi Goel.
Laapataa Ladies also won ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for Ravi Kishan.
Janki Bodiwala also picked up the IIFA for her performance in Shaitaan.
She had also played the part in the original version, Vash.
The award was presented to her by none other than Shah Rukh Khan.
Speaking of winning the award, Janki said:
“The dream of hearing, ‘And the award goes to’ following my name has fulfilled today and that too from SRK sir himself!”
“I can’t thank enough! Thank you IIFA for this lifetime memory.”
Janki also thanked her Shaitaan co-stars Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika, and Anngad Raaj.
There was also a moment of tribute on the night as the veteran star Rekha handed the IIFA Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Cinema’ to Rakesh Roshan.
Beginning his career as an actor in the 1970s, Rakesh switched to direction with Khudgarz in 1987. He has helmed many classics since.
He directed Rekha in Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Koi…Mil Gaya (2003), and Krrish (2006).
